So do I just wait for the secondary school committee to contact me for an interview or am I suppose to call or something? Im in the nyc area so there is definitely an active committee. Any help is appreciated.

They will contact you.

though there is certainly a committee in your area, you are not guaranteed (nor required to have, for acceptance) an interview.

don't freak out and call the admissions office, however, because they don't control the interviews, and not being offered an interview doesn't mean you aren't going to be accepted.

What is the point of having interviews if it is not used for admissions purposes?

Can you reject/refuse an interview?

You can turn it down, but I think that would be a bad idea.

You are not required to have an interview and, if you are contacted about one, you can decline it. Of course, turning down an interview would send a very strong message that you are not very interested in the school, which would make one wonder why you applied there in the first place. And yes, YOU are contacted--you do not need to do anything.

Since not every applicant has access to Penn alumni, the interview is not a big factor in admissions. It is as much for the applicant to find out more about the school and to personalize the process as it is to learn what the applicant is like in person.
