hey guys

I'm going on a recruiting trip to NYU sometime time in mid October and I'm pretty sure there is going to be a interview. I'm kinda nervous about it and was wondering if anyone to tell me about their experiences there and what to expect.

thanks

According to the admissions officer that I talked to, they do not do interviews, besides auditions for the arts school. But I dunno, good luck if they do.

Um yeah, NYU doesn't do interviews--their justification is "too many applicants"

Yeah NYU can't possibly do over 40,000 interviews a year haha. Have fun though man, NYU campus is amazing!

wow i didnt know that. I just assumed that they would since its a really good school. thanks for the input.

Although they don't grant interviews, Steinhardt has a special information program that is quite intimate. it is attended by various department heads who will answer questions and and will meet with you briefly.

We attended "Steinhardt Connections" for music and the head of every department in music did a short presentation and took questions. Only about 20 h.s. students attended. We spoke to 2 department heads for about 10 minutes each after the presentation over a pizza lunch.

It was informative, and although not an interview, allowed you to have a real discussion and learn valuable tips.

Was that at the Steinhardt Open House?

Here is the link to the program I am referring to above. It is for jrs and rising hs seniors. I highly recommend it.
