Regarding programs like BU's 7 year accelerated or Drexel's accelerated med programs as just 2 examples, if we are contacted for interviews, what does this mean? What I'm asking is, if we are asked for an interview, does it mean that all our other criteria like GPA, SATs, and ECs are already deemed worthy and now all applicants are on an even playing field with the interview playing the biggest part now?

yes that exactly what it means. The interview can basically make or break you.

thanks for the reply!!

Another question: I know that interviewers ask ethics questions regarding abortion and stem cell research etc, but what if our opinions are different? Like, what if I agree with abortion but the intervewer doesn’t? Do they ask these questions to see if we agree with them or is it ok if we disagree as long as I can back up my opinions intellectually?

There’s no “right” position to take on ethics questions. They want to see your rationale behind it.

They just want to see if your views are aligned with their views. They don’t want someone with compeletely different views coming to their school. One way to tackle this question, i have heard, is to answer the question in such a way as to state views from both sides of the debate. They know we’re only in high school and have yet to see the world but if you say points from both sides, that shows you’re not extreme and you’re knowledgeable.
