dont go UVA...
unless you don't want your life
bunches of americans are now extremely anti-Koreans, especially people in VA. imagine, if you are a brother or sister of a victim..won't you hate Korean?? so, you may be hated and retaliated by those relatives or friends of the victims..
horrible, isn't it?

nakedgirl grow up -_-
I appreciate that you are trying to help someone out, but you should be aware of the fact that you are being subjective here. If you think there are anti-koreans the most in VA I would say there are other places where asians are not allowed to enter as a whole.

I hate how Americans don't give a s**t about Americans killing Americans, and makes a big deal out of minorities killing Americans.
There are so much more accidents involving guns among Americans than among minorities in the US. And nobody would say anything because they themselves are americans as well.
I'm not saying their ideas are wrong, but this is something they would have to improve on: not prejudicing on one's race or nationality.

And as I repeat again, I don't think this accident has anything to do with his korean nationality. He didn't say anything like "I'm korean. I hate everyone except for my own people."
Is Korean the only type of race that would shoot and kill people? I don't think so.

wow. what happened to this thread.

are we still wailing about virginia tech..dude i'm bored...unless a whole school is massacred, i don't think its worth talking about for over 5 minutes... don't kid with me. everyone's racists. deep inside, everyone is resentful of the germans who killed and raped millions. seriously, even if i try to be partial and forgiving, i don't think i will be inclined to befriend a german. also, germans harrassed by firend for being bulgarian, so... as for this korean, don't worry cuz he didn't commit mass atrocities like hitler.

Yes other countries are more racist than in the US. I think that fact's self-evident, like with the Japanese not allowing that white teacher/activist who was a Japanese citizen to enter the hot-springs because he was caucasian, looked Russian, and was consequently thought to be more likely to be dirty, smelly, or start a brawl.

Anyway, I tried baking melon pan. After 4 hours I made 5 bisquets. The outside was burnt to a crisp but the inside was soft, spongey and good. I should consider looking into french pastreys, but I understand that they often use different and more refined ingredinets. (fine sugar/flour that don't exist in the US.) What a shame. Has anyone else here tried to bake french pastreys? How did they turn out? (I've tried 'sweet' crepes and they took a long time, but those aren't pastreys.)

I dont bake.. but I'm going to bake blueberry muffins tomorow with my cooking-obssessed friend.

sauronvoldemort, you're not inclined befriend germans?!

actually, no i wouldn't befirend a german. i find europeans quite...too classy??

charizard, are u telling me that there's discrimination in japan? that's messed up..

I'm sooooo annoyed! I love Asian food, especially 국s, 찌게s and 탕s but there aren't any nice Asian restaurants around where I live!!! :( There are a lot of Chinese takeout places, but they only have dry noodles and food, and I like noodle soups!! Man, I miss living in Sydney, where there was a huge variety of foods to choose from ... 육계장 보고싶어!!!

Sydney has good food. Yeah, I envy you for living there....theres good pastrys by the harbor and scones at the train stations. Oh, and for two dollars you get this rolled sushi the size of a burrito that you can bite into. Great stuff.

i am chinese but i like kimchi

the hotter/more spicy the better

i quite dislike most of korean food because they're too healthy.. and some are just way too unhealthy (ramen)

korea made two contributions to the world in terms of food: ramen and choco-pie (at least in the continent of asia they're popular. i've seen arabic, russian and chinese inscriptions on choco-pie.)

but, i think i like the mongolian way of cooking every single part of the goat and storing cheese in the stomach of the goat...so romantically beautifully rustic and arcadian...

Man...I wonder why I'm posting here....well nevermind that...

Sauron's description of Gourmet goat cheese just whets my appetite...I wonder what it would be like to be a goat-herder in the swiss alps two hundred years ago (the book Hiedi) where your diet consists mainly of milk, goat cheese and bread. I bet some people would forgo half of your profits for some variety....

Yeah, ramen is unhealthy. I think all noodles are somewhat unhealthy because they have eggs in them, although ones with a greater amount of flour might be safer.

One thing to watch out for in all noodles (particularly ramen) is MSG, or Monosodium glycate-ishcomplicatedscientificmumbojumbo.
Even though MSG has a negative stigma in the US, it's not as bad around Japan where its thought that MSG is just an excuse for americans to scoff at Asian cooking. Only recently did I realize that Thai Omg Gung Yong (spelling?) tastes good because the red crystals put in the sauce/broth are mostly MSG. Nowadays I don't put that stuff in the noodles anymore, but the noodles have consequently lost nearly all their flavor and taste more like Cup of Noodles.

Are you guys familar with soju? It must be cheap and cost like 3 cents or something...I saw a main character drink like 10 of them in one night in some drama...and then in the course of twenty episodes, became drunk per average, twice an episode...

Anyways, theres also carbonated milk but I'm afraid to try that since it sounds unhealthy. Oh did you guys know that if you take a bottle of coke and fill it with mentos, screw on the cap, shake and throw it cap-first at the ground it will fly? Yes, its true! As long as the pressure is high enough to break the plastic cap when you throw it, then you will have a bottle rocket that on youtube can shoot 20-30 feet into the air!

Oh I'm going on a field trip to the museum the day after tomorrow. Anyone interested in flying across the country to a big airport to meet me? Afterwards we'll probably eat noodles and sing Japanese karaoke. (For extra credit.) You can fly back home later that afternoon. Let me know if you're interested....

charizard, who do u think u are to expect some to fly all the way over to la just to go to a field trip with u???i assume that u style urself as a Lord or something.

yeah...that msg is pretty bad stuff...but, why would they put it on food? it's like putting cocaine in ur soup....i expect u could get high on it and get addicted...u never want that..

soju is hard liguour. i think it's distilled corn or some plant material.

I don't know if I'd classify soju has hard alcohol by any means. It's around 20% and if it's cold it literally tastes like water (albiet with a slightly bitter taste, but no burn). We get ripped off at soju bars in the US /:

wow.. an entire thread for koreans! this is cool.. hehe.. technically im not fully korean but i consider myself 100% korean at heart.. my dad's bahraini and my mom's korean and im a junior currently living in bahrain (a tiny island close to saudi).. my number one college choice would have to be stanford although it would take a miracle to get in.. apparently, my minority status is going to be a major boost in my college apps according to my hagwon teacher but i doubt that.. ohh and about the vt incident.. i dont think that we should worry about racism.. im the only korean in my school and so far i havent gotten any racist comments and i have read a lot of threads on facebook and contrary to our worries, there hasnt been any racist attitude towards koreans..
