The Last Chance Thread I'll Ever Make

International Asian female student
Current senior at private, competitive international school in Asia

Prospective major: Economics or Business (pre-business)

GPA so far: 3.89 (rising trend: 3.6 (UW no APs/Honors allowed), 3.89 (UW no APs/Honors allowed), 4.19 (Only 2 APs allowed))
UC GPA: 4.0

SAT 1: 2320 (800 M, 770 W, 750 CR)
SAT 2: World History 790, Math 2C 800, Chem 800, Bio 800

Senior Citizen Home Volunteer (11, 12) ---Total volunteer hours: 48
UNICEF Orchestra (11, 12) ---Total volunteer hours: 55
Have played flute for 6 years through private lessons, a year in a band class in school, and in the orchestra I play for (generally private; didn't do competitions)

Vacation activities:
Interned at Citibank for the winter and summer of my junior year
Volunteered at the senior citizen home that I go to every month
Volunteered (played) at the orchestra I go to every other week

Other:
Household income: 300K+
No FA needed. My parents have a savings account holding 300K for my college expenses.
Parents both have bachelor+ degrees outside of U.S.

Essay:
I've been working on it. It's about how my mother's professional life has influenced me. The people who've read it think that it's good, but you can never be sure of yourself.

Recs:
Um..hahahaha
I'm not expecting anything bad...but probably not incredible.
I'm assuming good-okay recs.
I didn't really have a relationship with my teachers.

The Schools:
Northwestern ED
UChicago EA
UMich EA
NYU Stern ED II
MIT
Columbia
Penn
UC Berkeley
UCLA
USC
CMU
Penn State
Brandeis
Fordham

I'm really worried because 1. I'm not unique (at least not on paper) 2. My ECs 3. My GPA 4. My school's crap grading system and AP system (only 2 aps per year and only junior and senior year) 5. I'm an International student from Asia

Also, I will not apply direct admit to the B school for UMich and possibly, not even for USC either. I've heard that it's significantly more difficult.

Please chance!!
I'll chance back!
THANKS!

Oh, and my TOEFL ibt score was 112. Haha I didn’t study at all.

In my opinion:

  1. Good SAT1 and SAT2, solid GPA, so why dont u add some “reach” schools?
  2. How about your contribution?
  3. Do u have any national or international awards in academics?, if not, I think dont apply to MIT
  4. Just a little bit curious, where r u from?, Im also an international student
Chance me back guy ;), http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1209426-chance-me-colgate-uni-international-student-thanks-all.html

I guess you missed the part where she said she’s applying to UChicago, Northwestern, UPenn, Columbia, Berkeley, MIT, etc.?

MIT, Chicago*, Penn, Columbia: Reach (for everybody)
NW ED: Solid chances (ED and no FA)
I think you have solid chances at other colleges on your list (because you are not applying for FA).

*Chicago EA has higher acceptance rate than RD.

You definitely have a nice SAT and GPA.
However, I think MIT, UPenn, & Columbia might be a reach for you.
But otherwise, you’re set.

Can you chance me and see if I could get into the school of management at Suny Binghamton?

Thanks guys…

Bump!
