I know about LEAD Wharton and its reputation, but I'm just wondering how the other programs that Wharton offers to high schoolers stack up against LEAD. Like acceptance rate, actual learning, etc. Any input would be appreciated!

Check my other posts for LBW info ( or as much as I have lol)

hey so is it bad if i dnt really have that much business "experience" to add to my resume and still want to go? i mean i have a ton of other ecs. but not so much business-related besides deca involvement

The essay is about a time when you displayed effective leadership...so leadership in any ec is more important than biz ones.
That's the same as a lot of people that go to ugrad bschool...there just aren't that many business things in HS other than deca and fbla

In your opinion, upw22, what makes LBW better than LEAD?

Lead and lbw are both highly regarded and very much worth the time and financial commitment. For me personally, LBW seems more appealing; Lead is a national organization that has Penn hosts a program for.

Lbw is run completley by Penn

Also, lead is supposedly a minority program, even though I've heard this isn't completely true.

From what I've read and heard, the lbw curriculum is slightly more appealing to what I want , and I'm also not minority; that's why it's better FOR ME

Thanks a lot for your input, upw. I just have a few more questions...

Which one is more friendly to people who have never experienced the types of curriculm (Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Supply Chains, Leadership, etc.)

Which one is based more on the case study system?

How is the experience overall at LBW?

Before i get to the questions...a few other things you should know (if you don't already)

LBW
1.)60 kids, 30/30 male/female
2.)no college credit
3.)54 or 57 hundred dollars i forget which...
4.) ~300 applicants for 60 spots...a ~20% acceptance rate
5.) anyone can apply

LEAD
1.)30 kids, BUT there are 11 sites and the application asks you to specify your top 5, meaning you really are applying for 1 out of 150 spots
2 ,3.)i have no idea about college credit or cost but im sure you could find it in another thread
4.)LEAD website says they get 1200+ apps a year for 370 spots....which is a 30% acceptance rate
5.)you must be a US citizen or permanent resident to apply

and for the questions...

Do you mean friendly as in more likely to accept you if you haven't had business education? or friendly as in if you haven't had business education you wont be completely lost during the summer curriculum?

LEAD's website specifically says their SBI is based on the case study system; LBW's has nothing about it. I'm sure LBW uses it (it was invented at Wharton after all) but the websites make me think it would be more heavily incorporated at any LEAD SBI location than at LBW

Check previous threads...I haven't been so I can't really say anything...but all I've seen is happy people (at least on CC)

hope that helps
