The length of time to transfer to UC's

Do UC's take into account how long it took you to transfer? Like say It took more than 3 years to transfer does it look bad? What if you had circumstances that didnt allow you to go to school full time? Thanks for the replies!

I don't think it matters because everyone has their own schedule. Most of my friends are at CC for 3-4yrs and they got in to Cal, UCLA or SD! I'm also in my 3rd yr at CC! Don't worry!

I did it in two years with taking 1 class during high school. Now I'm going to UCLA, and it seems to me that it all depends on how you test into your classes. I know some people that test in Math and English low and they spend about 1-2 years of taking non transferable classes to get up to the right level, then start their transferable courses.

Good Luck, and enjoy CC, I sure did. :)

I think the key here is to be reasonable. Spending 2-3 years at a JC is probably expected, anything more just looks like you're not that dedicated, unless of course you have a good reason.

The time period taken to complete the requirements is not considered. You can take however long you need to meet our requirements. If you take time away from school we will require you explain your gap in education as part of the personal statement.

what if you already go to a UC and want to transfer to another UC? Is it still possible to transfer in your 3rd year?

From what I heard, transfering UC to UC is possible, unless your talking about schools like UCLA and Berkeley, then I heard its really hard.

I mean *transfering into schools like UCLA and Berkeley from another UC

I know of some people who transferred from other UCs to Cal/Davis after their freshmen year. Don't know how they did it, but it's possible apparently.

pppeach- probably they had overload of courses + AP courses combined or CC courses took during high school. Therefore, they had min. 60units to tranfer as junior level in 1 yr.!!

60 semester / 90 quarter units
