yeah tennistennis i agree. conservatives: i respect your opinions but this is a liberal thread, preach to someone else.

No...bush attacked the armed psycho first who was going to rape him...and then attacked the psycho right next to him who was raping someone else...thus he took up the cause of fighting rape...

we shot at the psycho (afghanistan) and prevented the guy next door (iraq) who didn't like the psycho historically, but cheered him on and wanted his friends to come over (iraq was a terrorist safe-haven).

so we decided to do both...and yeah unforutnately all the psycho's friends ended up coming over next door becuiase they don't want us to win and succeed, and we are fighting them even today.

the terrorists know what the implications of a successful free iraq would mean.

what are u talkin about..the armed psycho is still on the loose..he claimed he was gonna attack his ass..its like hey u cant find the killer..go for the next best thing..haha..who cares about the killer..as long as we have someone to blame..lets blame that lil boy stnding in the corner..

can we let go of the pyscho metaphor? and can you guys go elsewhere??? i want to revel in my unabashed liberalness. ill probably get an abortion, dance with osama, eat some granola and then marry my girlfriend in a few short minutes. dont think you guys want to be around for that.

Go away bigjake. You're annoying everyone

terrorist..u guy generalize too much..how do u know they came over..terrorists could be anyone..i saw something on 24 that totally *ed me off..he asked the terrorist dude..does ur religion make u do this and some other stuff..it just *ed me off..GAH!..oh crap i realllllllly gotta go

'the terrorists know what the implications of a successful free iraq would mean."

Yup, a "free" Iraq, like the one today? The terroit haven that it has become? Yeah, they'd loove that.

I've stayed pretty quiet, but I now think its time for me to speak up a bit. We went to war with Iraq for oil and for no other reason. The statements made by Bush and his cronies that we are liberating Iraq from Saddam Hussein is just a cover-up for the true motives, and that statement came after they said Iraq had WMD's.

Condi is complete scum. She got hammered by the 9/11 Commission and is a pathological liar. I don't see why anyone would idolize her. Frankly, I find that disturbing.

If we were really bent on stopping terrorism we would be invading North Korea where they do have Nuclear Arms in the open. If we were the world's police keepers we would be helping out in Sudan with the Darfur crisis.

Jake, the only arguments you can make for Bush is that he is a strong leader because he fights back. Personally, I would rather have a President who thinks about all possible options before deciding on war. This President jumped to fighting as his first option and didn't look back. Over 1,500 soldiers have died in Iraq and the count is only going to rise at a more rapid pace as more and more Iraqis see that the insurgency is working.

McCain is a lot more moderate than Bush, which makes him a better candidate for the Republicans. He would help bring the party back to the more moderate end and pull it away from the Right-wind conservative aspects which have begun to dominate this country's media forums and policies. He isn't a bad candidate and he might win, but to say that he would continue policies that he has opposed over the past four years would not occur.

The times we are in now are a direct creation of the policies of this administration. The more you aggitate someone, the more and more violent they tend to become. In this case, we ****ed off the entire Middle East and a vast majority of Europe. We fight more violently and with more numbers now because we have made it so. On average, we got attacked by Al-Qaeda once every 3-5 years. I expect that number to increase as more and more issues take place in Iraq and the Middle East.

On 9/11, Bush could have calmly said to the children that something urgent came up and as President he must leave them, but that they were doing a great job reading and that they need to continue their education to become productive members of American society. No need to scare them, just calmly get up and walk out.

I would not be suprised if during the next 4 years some moderate Republicans switched parties to either Independent or Democrat. The fact that the administration is changing to more and more right-wing policies has begun to alienate most moderates and even some conservatives such as Arlen Specter. There will be an internal battle within the Republican party in the upcoming years and that is an inevitability.

I happen to think that Bush's reelection, while currently an issue, will actually strengthen the Democratic party. In 1972, McGovern won only 1 state vs. Richard Nixon. Nixon was impeached and the Democrats won office in 1976 when all things in '72 seemed hopeless. Clinton's scandal forced a reaction in 2000 and even then Gore had more popular votes than Bush and depending on the data you read in independent vote tallies, may have actually won Florida.

Do not despair Democrats because we have a bright star in Obama and even Republicans like the guy. It is a long time to 2008 and many things can happen in that time. Let us wait and see as to future events unfold.

Thats fine with me....ill just sit outside my porch with a shotgun...

film...lol..that was great..osamas hot..haha..im sooooooo jealous

Why don't you "conservaties" go way to your own thread?
[/quote]

Please stop whining. You obviously haven't been here as much as a couple days ago, when you "liberals" invaded the conseratives thread and spouted personal attacks more than reasoned arguments

nicely said jaug...!!!!!

i really dont mind.."conservatives" voicing their opinion..its interestin..stimulating..be my guest..

and also...i'd rather America shoot at the psycho's (bin laden) nextdoor neighbor and fight all the psycho's friends (terrorists and insurgents) THERE

rather than in MY backyard.

okay i'm done with the analogy hehe

Ok well...its annoying writing the same thing over and over again....but...YOU'RE WRONG...first of all, where are you getting that Republicans are unhappy with Bush...trust me, if there were any time in history when Republicans were solidly united behind their president, its NOW...especially in the face of so much leftist antagonism and self-proclaimed superiority...Republicans hate liberals...they would never vote Democratic...

And don't get your hopes up. The Republican Party is an organized political machine that knows what candidate to put up for office. If Democrats put up Hillary Clinton or Obama in 2008, they're going to get shot down again. If you really love your party...write them a letter and tell them to have some common sense when they put up a candidate...

Agreed. As the original founder of the thread, I asked for Republicans to place their views and opinions here. I want this to be a place where we can openly express our views on issues.

ameechee, i wasnt one of them. i was too busy with the aforementioned activities i suppose. what was the point of your post? just trying to start something?? i dont care if you stay, im going to watch the daily show and then going to bed :)

jaug--- where's the oil? why are gas prices so high? if we were going there simply to hog it all why do we even bother staying and try to make elections work? why do we risk our relations with every other nation, our economic ties etc... to try and make a free Iraq work?

bytheway, how does everyone feel about the fact that Afghanistan had their first elections last October---and even though the country is nowhere near in perfect shape, it's gettnig to begin the long road AWAY from all thsoe crazy years of terrorist occupation, islamic extremist oppression, and tribal warfare.

hmm bigjake..no i actually know people who voted for bush in 2000 who didnt vote for him again in 2004..honestly..i think kerry lost the election not because of foreign or economic policies but basically because of his views on social issues..thats basically it.
