How liberal is Beloit compared to other schools, like Oberlin, Denison, Brown, Kalamazoo, Wooster, Knox, and Kenyon?

The schools that you want us to compare it too are all over the spectrum themselves. I’d say it belongs somewhere in the middle of that list, less liberal than Oberlin but more liberal than Knox.

I second Hanna and I’d make it a point to talk to many current students or alums less than 2 years out from graduation outside the campus tours to get as accurate and current of a picture as possible.

When I attended Oberlin in the '90s, it was more liberal than most of the other schools on your list with the possible exception of Brown where they are tied or the gap is very narrow. However, from what I’ve heard from recent graduates, the Oberlin student body has become less radical-left than it was when I attended…and there seems to have been a trend towards less radical-leftism over the last 4-5 decades according to older alums.

Again, I’d recommend chatting with current students or recent alums no more than 2 years out to get a reasonable current picture of the campus culture/life.

My opinion:

Brown
Beloit / Oberlin
Kalamazoo
Wooster
Knox
Kenyon
Denison
