i support. As long as everybody is cool with this, i'll create the threads with catchy titles either tomorrow or thursday morning.

Congrats, schoolduh

I dunno about catchy so much as informative titles, I'd go for more informative titles, like "Official ED Class of 2010 Results" and "Official ED Class of 2010 Discussion."

And then in the first post explain how each thread should work, with either only stats in a specific format, or mainly discussion, prefferably related to class of 2010 admission decisions.

Just so you know. I work Thursday morning from 10-12, and will be sitting in front of a computer with nothing to do, and will be perfectly able to make the threads if you want gomestar.

I think a few hours before ED release is better than the day before. That way the threads won't get pushed off the page due to lack of use.

Sparticus, maybe add location or something...just be cool to see where everyone is coming from (not a big factor in actually getting in). I agree that the stuff about essays and recs is stupid since that is completely subjective. Whatever, all I did was pull the template from the Columbia forum and change the decision color to red.

New template:

[ size=+1][ color=red][ b]Decision: [ /b][ /color][ /size]

[ b]Stats:[ /b][ list]
[ *] SAT:
[ *] SAT IIs:
[ *] GPA:
[ *] Rank:
[ /list][ b]Location:[ /b]
[ b]Other Factors:[ /b]
[ b]General Comments:[ /b]

*Decision: *

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT:
[] SAT IIs:
[] GPA:
[] Rank:
[/ul]Location:
Other Factors:
General Comments:

That better?

cant you get rejected if they find out that you've checked the link or something? I read that somewhere cause the school doesnt want dishonest people...something like that. Im not sure

schoolduh - irvine

quit3frankly: cornell issued a statement saying 1. that the security gap was closed, and 2. that they are not punishing those who did view their decisions in this case due to the easily accidental nature of viewing the decision based on the nature of the link.

live- I like the idea of location.

Congrats to everyone who got in, sorry for those who didnt.
1.5 days to go. Still holding on to that glimmer of hope...

live- do you think the formatting is really necessary. if people just use the word or abbreviation followed by ": " don't you think that's enough? From what I've seen over the past year here, even the smartest kids in the country can royally screw up when it comes to using the pre-formatted templates! ;)

sparticus I don't care much. Maybe kind of nice to have just the decision big or something and just take out the other formatting? I'll leave it up to you...it's there if you want to post it at the top of the "official" decision thread.

did she really say that?

Aww I was so close to keeping my promise of not posting on this thread...

Yeah, I copied and pasted directly from email. Hahah. Well, except for the name.

thats not the only thing
"additional information concerning the our decision site"
she must do that a lot :)

haha I'm going to withdraw my early application. These spelling errors are inexcuseable! Let's all boycott Cornell

It's the Cornell, not just Cornell. Sheesh :)
