How big a factor is the location of where you go to school in where you end up working after graduation? How hard is it to get a half way or all the way across the country after graduation?

This really depends on the school. If you go to a mediocre university, then recuriting is exclusive to local companies. Thats the situation I'm in now. I attend a pretty mediocre college, but I'm transferring to Indiana University, which is closer to home, and a much better academic instituition, and has national recruiting. If you go to a well known school companies from all over the country will recruit there. Though it should be noted, though that while companies from all over recruit at top schools, schools like IU do have a lot of companies from the region also.
