The Long Wait Till April 1

So now that most of us have submitted our apps and supps. We got to wait till april 1 thats a little under three months. But I'm get jittery from time to time just thinking about it. Why web surfing for "secret" tips on getting accepted into JHU and listening to Together forever by The Turtles,( hmm may be i should send the song to admissions) I found this : http://www.jhu.edu/~gazette/2005/04apr05/04admit.html
Its an article from the JHU newpaper,.... and there is a picture.... of what the acceptance letters look like.
Well now I know if I see the mail(man/woman) with a big blue/red envelope, I can go running down the block to get the mail or close the door when I he or she doesn't have one ( think POSTIVE...) ... and then cry. (not really although...)

Any ideas on how to pass the time before that happy (think POSTIVE) or sad moment ?

Great find Lddark.

I actually drove one of the two vans last year to the post office with all the decision letters. It is quite a day in our office -- months of hard work finally coming to an end.

You think April 1 is a long way off -- just imagine facing the daunting task of reading all the applications in less than three months. It is overwhelming and all the Admissions counselors have no lives, but we love it.

And oh yeah, a bit of good news -- the letters will probably mail on March 31, not April 1. Sorry that was a bit sadistic.

Cheers!

I have spent hours and hours on end digging up all and any information on JHU. ( JH= heart's desire) I have watched the lacrose games, Blimp movie- Codename -LAURA, Spaghetti Bridge contest and many others, my favorite is : Johns Hopkins: The Curtain Lifted - everything about JHU. I've watched it around 10 times. And there was I telling myself I wouldn't get too attached to JH. Well that ship has sailed and sunk. Im hooked.

so will the online posting be on march 31st too? or still april 1st? i mean every day is killing me here!! already!

The same process will occur with RD as we did with ED. Once ALL the decisions letters are dropped off at the post office then we will send emails out to all applicants we have correct email addresses for. We do not have an online system to check your status as other schools do. So if letters are mailed on the 31st, emails will go out then as well.

(And no, we have no idea what time, so please do not ask.)

Cheers!

I always liked the email thing. It beats having to go to a website and click around to find a log on page and then click around even more on top of that! It's also harder to add some of these sites to the favorites list. oy!

also it will prevent a back up. whenever i wanted to check my sat scores, i had to wait about 30 minutes before i could finally get in. i don't know if i could take that for jhu!!

acceptance letters come in these packages that are paper sized so it can fit a folder. the others come in just regular envelopes i think.

if you check your email, acceptances have a subject line of "congratulations blah blah blah." i'm not sure what the rejection emails are, but it won't have congratulations.

knowing those two things for ED freaked me out. lol.
