If your major classes are located at the Loop campus, do you still live on the Lincoln Park campus as a freshman? What is the time distance between the two on public transportation?
The train ride from the Fullerton station to Jackson on the Red line is about 15 minutes. The Fullerton stop is very close to the Honors dorm, bookstore, a Whole Foods, and lots of housing.
On the Brown line to Adams-Wabash it can take a little longer because they make stops around the Loop.
Apparently it is extremely common to live on the LP campus and commute frequently to the Loop. You can see some older threads where people have spoken about this in more detail.
