The LSAT: How early can you take it?

I know most people take the LSAT the year before their admission round, but what if a student prepped and took it in Oct. or Dec. of his frosh or sophomore year? Would that be looked down upon by schools even if the student fared well(170+)?

I'm not sure if it would be frowned on. However, why would you take it that early? You'll probably be more prepared to take it after a couple years of college work.

A LSAT score is only valid for 5 years. If you take it as a freshman, you'd "eat up" 2 or 3 years of "eligibility." While you may THINK that you are POSITIVE you want to go directly to law school immediately after college, life has a habit of surprising you.

Moreover, remember that most law schools average scores, so it doesn't make sense to take it to practice.
