Topp, that is great that you made the cut for Macaualy and got housing. Your parents must be so happy.

the mail came i still didn't get anything. its going to be the 17th at the earliest, this is bull

lebronfor2008mvp, that sucks! A lot. The same thing happened to my friend who applied ED. She was supposed to get a reply by Dec. 15th but she got it Dec. 20th. If you don't get it by the 17th, a phone call is in order..

BTW, does anyone know this year's stats? Did average SAT score rise/GPA, etc?? How many people did they accept?? Lol, I'm so curious.

did she get in? It would suck if she didn't after the wait

@ sarmango

here are some stats via wiki- "For fall 2008 entry, Macaulay Honors College received 3,846 applications--the largest applicant pool to date--while there were only 340 openings in the Freshman Class of 2013." The stats are reliable since they have a note linking them to the cuny site. The avg SAT was around 1360+, but the stats vary by school.

@ miktau
Told you that the late arrival didn't signal a rejection. Now, you must thank me for giving you hope!

Would any of you be kind enough to let me know if the GPAs referenced here are weighted or unweighted? Also whether Hunter/Macauley recalculates? I'd be most grateful!

Have any Macaulay City College applicants received anything online or via email?

anything from Baruch yet guys?

how about brooklyn college? Anyone got anything yet???

kayf... yea, my parents are super happy... i think they're more excited than i am

spacecamper... nothing came online/e-mail. i just checked my application status on the cuny portal & it is not updated as yet.

Good luck!!!

Have gotten nothing from Baruch yet...

Yeah, has ANYONE heard from Baruch yet?
I've heard about alot of kids from my school who got into City/Hunter, but I haven't heard of ANY notification from Baruch - rejection or acceptances...

Well, my boyfriend was the one who applied and he called admissions today but it's impossible to get through. The wait is ridiculous!

HOPE101 - when you say alot of kids from your school apply, I assume you are from the city. I am from out of state. Do most kids that apply from your school get in? thanks!

Yeah, I go to a highschool in NYC that's pretty prestigious, Wall Street Journal had us ranked as the #1 Public school, and 9th overall after private schools... So we have kids with crazy GPAs and high SAT scores (hahahah totally not me) but alot of kids apply for financial reasons or because they want to stay in the city.\
Uhm yeah, most people get in from what I've heard so far. But throw numbers out the window this year - applications jumped sky-high for a free ride in this economy...

Pretty weird though - my friend applied ED to Baruch Honors and got rejected even though she seemed like a sure winner. Baruch offered a full scholarship to the college though.

Good luck!!

HOPE101 - thanks! I got deferred ED from Macaulay/ Brooklyn, and accepted at Brooklyn with no alternate offers yet-- I am still waiting to hear about RD - the ED decisions were a week late so I am not surprised at the wait...Incidently, I go to a "high-standards" out-of-state high school, but I am not sure if it carries the same weight (admission-wise) as the prestigious NYC high school...we shall see what happens, if those letters ever get here!!!

shoot, i just have to wait it out

Oh guysssss - I just heard today from the Baruch swim team captain/coach that Baruch admissions hasn't even been released yet for Honors.
Expect it to be late, so please stop holding your breath!
I heard it's coming out either next week or maybe even the week after that!

CUNY is having a back log. They expect to release a lot of decisions next week.

what is a backlog?
