the magic ACT number for me

I'm still waiting on ACT scores from June 10th.

I got a 2000 on my first SAT and was hoping that my ACT would turn out slightly better.

What do you think I need to score on the ACT to be in line for the elites (HYPS basically)

I've got a lot of other stuff, so I don't need super high test scores to carry me, but I'm definitely not hooked....

What is the magic ACT number?

A score in the 30s.

err...i'd say 33 or over

I recall reading that the middle 50% percentile of ACT scores for most of the Ivys is somewhere in the range of 28-33 I believe. For a large part, acceptance depends on a lot of other things, such as ECs, high school GPA, etc.

Def890, a score past 33 is in the 30's.

That along with what mo24 said.

well for places like harvard and co. you really should have at least a 32 (a little over a 2100 on the SAT) if you dont have any hooks like being a legacy, URM, etc. If you have a hook then anywhere in the 30's is fine.

Thank you ttlyswt.

32+ I think is what HYPS...look at?

If you're at 31, it isn't awful?

No actually I saw someone post on here that they got into harvard via early action with a 31 with no significant hooks.

they muct have had somthing special

I'd say to get a 30 or higher.

i guess the consesus is 32 works good?

It'll probably give you a decent chance.

i would say the "consesus is 32 works" WELL

;)

why aren't the scores back yet??
