In the other news, some students started a thread about stress and the RD admissions for Yale.

hey hey whats with all the hatin on Canada? lol

and fyi very few canadians are actually french (around 23% according to stats can in 2001)

but im guessing you were just joking :P

after all I'd rather live in Canada, since all Americans are obese.

heres an american-canadian joke to laugh at

In a train car there were a Canadian, an American, a spectacular looking blonde and a frightfully awful looking fat lady. After several minutes of the trip the train happens to pass through a dark tunnel, and the unmistakable sound of a slap is heard. When they leave the tunnel, the American had a big red slap mark on his cheek.

The blonde thought - "That American son of a ***** wanted to touch me and by mistake, he must have put his hand on the fat lady, who in turn must have slapped his face"
The fat lady thought - "This dirty old American laid his hands on the blonde and she smacked him".
The American thought - "That ****ing Canadian put his hand on that blonde and by mistake she slapped me".
The Canadian thought - "I hope there's another tunnel soon so I can smack that stupid American again".

(and i was totally kidding about the obese thing... I know its only like 32.2% (almost 90 million people)... and 30% are overweight.

unfortunately, Canada is on its way to becoming the same...)

NJBkitty, if you thought it was interesting before, just look at it now. ;)

basketballbabe if you are so against america and americans why did you apply to an AMERICAN college?

one of the many jokes that I laugh aloud to, wherever I am.

Lollllllll at any and all jokes involving Canada.

I used to have your national anthem memorized..."O Cananda, our home and native land, true patriots love, at all your sons' command....something something". Ehh.

I must say, America's national anthem is bad-ass. I mean, seriously, the most stirring lyrics are about rapid canon fire from ramparts, incendiary rockets' glare, and cannon/grapeshot bursting in air.
^ And America wrecking the Brit's junk in spite of it.

Speaking of threads to take the edge off; http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/606169-five-song-playlist-thread.html

(note the first line of the first post....)

Haha yeah Butternut, things are definitely getting a bit more interesting.

42 days, 20 hours, 50 minutes, 30 seconds.

Yus.

I think the 31st itself should not be included in the countdown, because well on the day it occurs it does not really count. So the number is actually 41 days (plus that allows us to shave off another day mentally).

I am going to take a haitus from CC bc going on here makes me think of the colleges, which seems to prolong the process. So as tigger used to say ta ta for now :)

Wow I didn't read this thread in its entirety, but it's making me fall in love with Yale even more!
I went on vacation for a week and time flew by, and now that I'm back home/on CC all the time, I can't STOP thinking about colleges!
Ahh!

Actually my countdown ends at 5:00 pm EST, the exact time we're supposed to get our decisions. Woot!

42 days, 17 hours, 39 minutes, 27 seconds

Dbate, anyone who quotes Tigger is my hero. :)

hahaha TTFN: Ta Ta For Now! me gusta.

I used to love Pooh. I watched the cartoon all the time. That, Wishbone, and a weird little show called "Adventures in Virtue" that was based on a book I loved to read hahaha

I still find it odd his name is Winnie-the-Pooh.

I remember reading a Pooh-comic when I was learning English and being utterly mesmerized by the scatological notes in his name . Then again, it's somewhat gentler than, say, Winnie-the-Turd or Winnie-the-Debilitating-Diarrhoea.

"Wanda" from Wishbone creeped me out.

Did anyone ever watch "The Magical Music Box"?
There was like, this giant talking gramophone, the "Letter People" minishow, and Hi-Lo, the guy that would pop up when someone said anything that sounded like his name.

C'mon, please, someone else HAS to have watched this.

Winnie-the-Debilitating-Diarrhoea? What happened to the good old spelling of diarrhea?!
Anypoo (yes, I'm aware of my extreme funny-ness), in Russian the 'H' at the end of Pooh is pronounced and it's HILARIOUS.

diarrhea |ˌdīəˈrēə| ( Brit. diarrhoea) ;)

No one likes you Brits :P

^^^^A joke, Brits are cool people with hot accents.
;)

^ How do you know IndiaRubber is British? Hehehehehehe.
