The March 31st College Massacre

oh. my. god. I. LOVE. BEN. FOLDS.

you should get into Dartmouth just for music taste.

hahahaha YES! YES, can i please get that in writing?

i love Ben Folds. so much. soooooo much. i was so mad the other day, i found out they're giving a concert in the city in May. I found this out the day after tickets went on sale, so of course they were sold out two hours after they were available. SO MAD.

ETA: babybird, we're the same person. therefore we must both get in.

noooooo I WANT TO SEE BEN FOLDS...why am i so behind on tour dates and stuff?

I think i am seeing the Decemberists in concert in May, though.

you're so right, we need to both get in. and we'll be Russian together.

wooHOO! we'll eat golubtzi and watch S Lyokhkim Parom on New Year's.

and please, no vodka jokes? lol

haha. I will leave out the Grey Goose mentions, but I'll be bringing it, you can be sure.

sorry to change the subject....but how do you guys know when decisions will be posted (and when is that)???????? do we just log into the same thing that we do to check our status??????

yes. the status page will have the decisions after 3 on March 31st.

this year will so be a massacre since almost every top school had record number of applicants.. princeton. 20% INCREASE!! harvard 16%. dartmouth 10%.. :(

but yale had a 1% decrease

lol. that's b.c they had a record last year... and 1% dec doesn't even make a diff considering last year yale admitted 8.9% of all the applicants.. i guess 9.0% is a difference to some ppl, but i don't think it will be much difference for many..

all you kids that like ben folds should check out a guy named Brendan Benson, and if you like foreigners like Sondre Lerche, try Teitur.
Napster really needs to get the new Iron and Wine CD up. Its really good so i might just go buy it.

i believe the philly tickets for may (i think) 13, it's a friday, only go on sale april 1...i might be going to that...of course NYC is more conveniant but it's on a tuesday and i have an AP test wednesday

i was talking about ben folds btw

The reason Princeton's went up so much is that this is their first year using the Common App. I overheard my interview coordinator talking about it. He also said that most people they invited to have an alumni interview didn't respond at all (not even to say "Thanks but no thanks"). He mentioned that they'd make a note that maybe the kids who showed up were the more serious ones...

I can wish.

yes... me too

WOW disco, no way! maybe i'll convince some friends to do a road trip...it's only a 2 hour drive...

i'm starting to feel slightly more confident. a few people got into Williams that I never would have imagined had a chance there...

ETA: it actually made me lose respect for Williams, lol. and glad i didn't apply there. as awful as it sounds :(

lol blu- the same thing happened with me and Harvard.

well, I havent lost respect for any of the schools I applied to (except Washu) I would be happy at most of the schools I applied to except for the UC's. I dont like big campuses

Yeah like 4 or 5 kids at my school all got waitlisted and they were really confused.

Whatever weird strategy WashU is using this year is sure not making kids want to go to their school.

oh well, I have moved on due to my acceptance to UCSD and the generous financial aid package
