The "Middle 50%"

<pre><code> Was wondering if the stats listed under the http://www.oar.uiuc.edu/future/freshmen/requirements.html "middle 50%" are the ranges of stats at the 50% or is it showing the bottom 25% - top 75%?

<p>It is what it says it is, the middle 50%; 1/4 of the admitted students had lower scores than the low scores shown and 1/4 had scores higher than the high scores shown, everybody else (the middle 50%) was in between the scores shown.</p>
