I have put hook and eyes in a few dresses, cuz too low cut for me. The black dress is quite special. As someone only a little taller than 5’, I have trouble with big prints. I’m sorry the anthropology store near me closed.
Received the dress in black motif in a petite size.
It was a great move. The bodice already has a hook and eye and the petite had a higher neckline. No need for a special bra or a cami.
It’s perfect and I’m so glad I followed my instincts and ordered the dress in the petite!

What’s the term for opposite of Bridezilla?
Son and his wife did a fabulous job planning their June wedding, with little help needed from any parents (we all live thousands of miles away). Bride was so lovely beforehand, even humoring me with many texts and emails about my dress. And the couple was so thoughtful and joyful all weekend long… still makes me smile. My 96 year old Dad, who danced a lot, is still beaming about it every time we talk.

Just starting my search. I sent a batch of links to DD tonight. If anyone wants to send some ideas my way I’ll take a look! June wedding, colors not for sure set, but it will be some combination of dusky sunset colors or what reminds me of succulent colors. Mauve or dusty plum will definitely fit any of them, possibly a eucalyptus green.
I am 5’7" size 8/10 so pretty average. I will be 47 and don’t want it to look too mature. No jackets or capes. I like embroidery/applique/texture, but preferably not sequins or beads. Undecided between tea or full length.

That’s a lovely dress!! I have to have something at the waist (at least a seam), so I love that inset waistband!
And, how cool they have men’s tie’s in colors that match dresses! Might be too, “prom” for some, but I like my dh to be coordinated with me at dressy events.

I did have a couple of those on my list 
I enjoy the color of the green MacDuggal (and the Baltic Born which was on my list)- the right green is much harder to find than mauve.
Out of the ones I emailed DD she also picked (independently) the mauve one I linked above. I can get to a Dillards and Nordstrom Rack where I live so will try some in person shopping first, and then see if I need to try some of these online.

That’s handy. I think(?) you can do mail order for Nordstrom delivered to Rack store. Assume same for Dillards. That would allow you to return any rejects right away, after leaving dressing room.
