The MOB/MOG Dress Extravaganza!

Daughter gave it the OK, so I may actually be done! I ordered the green dress; if it fits spectacularly, I may order it in another color. But I think it’s between these two. What a relief!

Great! And her wedding isn’t until fall, right? You’ll have to let us know how the other one is too.

11/11/23. And for sure I will post about the other dress!

Heck we are still waiting for S to say whether he wants H to wear a suit or an aloha shirt! They still haven’t told us wedding and reception venue and date. They were planning Oct/Nov 2023, so we expect to be hearing soon-ish.

Any just like that we have a wedding date and venue. It will be late October in outdoor rustic courtyard, if weather cooperates or indoors in ballroom if weather doesn’t.

Our SILs would have voted for aloha shirts with both arms and legs, :laughing:! Alas, they did not get married in Hawaii. :slight_smile:

I’m only going as an aunt, but I posted a link of my SIL’s dress that she will be wearing as MOG in the other thread. Figured I might as well repost here! I myself am waiting for an actual invitation to arrive before doing any shopping (well, other than online browsing).

@Marilyn — very pretty! I prefer sleeves over sleeveless but there are so many lovely sleeveless things. Online browsing seems a fairly safe past time.

I’m confused. In one post you say you are awaiting the venue…and in the next you days the venue has both indoor and outdoor options which implies you know the venue.

Regardless. You have some time to choose your dress. I’d start ordering some things now…better earlier than later!

@thumper1 I think @HImom just found out!

Ah. I see that now.

Congratulations to all of the MOB/MOG’s. :tada::confetti_ball::partying_face:

Just an exciting time.

Especially @HImom who it sounds the venue was booked very recently!

I’m going to be a MOB, but mine seems to be going for a long engagement. She has reasons but it will be fun when they pick a place and day.

Yup—we will drop off reservation deposit tomorrow or Wednesday. I still want to see what bride and her mom prefer about attire. I don’t want to step on toes and normally fit most things with no alterations.

@HImom very exciting!

Congratulations @HImom and family. One step closer to the big day.

Maybe this dress for a knee length lace dress?

@HImom that is really a pretty dress and color. I’d be worried that nylon lace would itch.

Reviews did NOT complain of itchiness of lace. They were mainly concerned about how easy it was to snag, which is another consideration.

I just ordered these dresses from Nordstrom last night for D’s October wedding. I’m not a sequins/lace kinda gal so am starting with these. Two different dresses but one of them I ordered in both navy and wine. I’d actually prefer a shorter dress but my daughter would like me to wear long or mid-calf if I find one I like.

This is the one I ordered in navy and burgundy.

@4kids4us those are both really nice. Are we voting? If so…I vote for the ruffled one in wine.
