Ok, I hate this type of question, and I know it makes me seem like I’m humblebragging but I genuinely don’t know if there’s a right answer. I originally just took the SAT to conform my score for the NMF competition, so I didn’t expect this and wasn’t just taking the SAT for fun (lol).

Each of these is one sitting:

ACT score: 36 C
36 R
36 S
35 M
35 S
10/12 W

SAT score: 1560
800 M
760 R
no essay

The “problem” is, I’m going into engineering and planning on applying to a lot of STEM type schools (MIT, WPI, RIT…). I was originally only planning on using the ACT and again, just took the SAT for NM, but I’m wondering if the SAT, especially the math score* would help me a bit more with my planned carrier goal and type of school I’m applying to. Should I send just the ACT, the SAT, or both (I’m not keen on spending extra money but I will if it will help). If I sent just the ACT or the SAT with my free score reports, should I send the other one too or not.

If you were my kid, I’d have you send both. It looks very good that you can do so well across both tests.

Exactly. I would send both at least to the reach schools on your list.

Slight correction to the original post, the 36s were in reading and english, the 35s were in math and science. I was tired and listed science twice (once incorrectly) and skipped english.

Well, there’s your answer.

Apparently I’m in the minority, but I can’t see how this would help. Personally, I’d just send the ACT, since it has the essay (in addition to being a 36).

Trust me, I’ve seen worse. :))
