The Most Played Rivals

I am really interested in both Lehigh and Lafayette. I am thinking of applying ED to either of these two colleges. I am an international who will require aid (about 40%-50%). I plan to get a degree in economics and eventually get a PhD in economics. Which institution is more tailored to my requirements? As in, which college will give me aid and which institution will prepare me for graduate studies?

bump bump bump bump

They’re both unlikely to give much aid b/c u are an international student. As for the schools themselves: Lafayette is smaller, is a LAC rather than a Uni, and excels more in liberal arts (Better for the liberal arts side of econ). Lehigh is larger, does more research, and excels more in trade school type majors (Engineering/Business). It would be better for a more practical, business-y econ curriculum. Because you seem to want to teach economics with the PhD, I’d go with Lafayette.

Another slightly off topic fact, Lehigh has a unfavorable male to female ratio that I thought was noticable on my visit. So if you’re a guy, def go for Lafayette. :p

From Lafayette’s website:

[Lafayette College Admissions for International Students](http://www.lafayette.edu/admissions/international/internationalfaq.html)

From Lehigh’s website:

[Lehigh University: International Students: FAQs](http://www4.lehigh.edu/admissions/undergrad/intl/faq.aspx)

It took me less than 5 minutes on each site to find this information. Websites of various colleges are your friend. And they give the definitive answers to your questions.

What I actually wanted to know was which one of the schools is better for a future in economics? I am aware that both Lehigh and Lafayette offer financial aid, but which one is more generous towards international students?

Lafayette promises to meet full need for accepted internationals; Lehigh doesn’t.
