For anyone who hasn’t seen the movie, it is about a kid who gets rejected from his dream school, Stanford, which was the only school he applied to, after his guidance counselor sends in the wrong transcript. Well, I tell ya, I was watching the movie the other night and started getting a little antsy. Wouldn’t that be the ultimate nightnmare? To get rejected because of a mistake by a guidance counselor. And with the incompetent counselors at my school, it could happen.

haha...my GC gave my best friend's rec letter to one of my colleges...THAT was scary!

It just goes to show how some people deserve more than the world that they live in gives them... read Candide... you will like the satire.

<you will="" like="" the="" satire.="">...i say...i did not like this satire!!!</you>

more scary: that movie was written by an alum of my hs, and all the counselors, teachers, etc. exist in real life.

If you only apply to one university (esp. one as selective as Stanford) then you deserve what you get.

yesss! that was hysterical!

"...You sent them the wrong transcript..."
"stop making accusations."
"But you DID!!!"

Bad movie. Great scene.

The best part is where that cheerleader's squinting at the envelope like: "Hey Monica, guess what? I got into... Yale!"

no no no

the best part of the movie is when Jack Black breaks into the admissions office and the secretary catches him.

Secretary: Do you want me to call campus security?
Jack Black: Do you want me to get naked......... and start the revolution?

that movie is the reason i sat there and watched my HS guidance counselor seal the transcript in an envelope so i could pick it up and mail it myself.

I LOVE that Movie. And that's my favorite scene:

.."..so you really think I can get into Stanford?"
" Oh yes, absolutely! You're a shoe-in. Berkeley is where you're going!"
"..umm Stanford"
"Yes, Stanford is where you're headed youngman!"

I love it! OMG. Its so true to life. I have friends with GC's who are so overloaded with students that they really cant keep any students straight and most of all, they dont care.

lol..

some people think I look like Jack Black...

The coolest thing is that the main character in the movie is Tom Hanks' son and his girlfriend in the movie is Susan Sarandon's daughter. I dunno, just with decision day coming up I couldn't help but think of that movie.

wow that is REALLY susan surandens daughter? Does she have more than one daughter by any chance?

Is that the same daughter that's in the movie Saved?

No, Schuyler Fisk is Sissy Spacek's daughter. Susan Sarandon's daughter, Eva Amurri, was in "Banger Sisters" and "Saved".

The main character in that movie is so incredibly attractive. He's like... nerdy boy cute.

I think if colleges see a difference in your reported grades (if they ask) and your transcript, they will at least call. ALSO, don't know about other high schools' transcripts, but I'm pretty sure they have NAMES on them. So when the names don't match up, I'm SURE they'll at least send you a letter saying, "we have not received your transcript..." So I think everyone is safe from that mistake... but who knows? Scary to think about, still, I agree.

Sorry, I confuse Sissy Spacek with Susan Sarandon. Damnit!. I couldn't remember which one exactly, but either way its cool. And I really don't think that Colin Hanks is a bad actor as many say. He just is...not as good as Tom. But who is?

That movie is great...if I get deferred from princeton, I will drive up to the campus like they did in the movie and find the dean of admissions...hahaha

remember the scene when the kid was getting interviewed by the people after he got rejected? that was hilarious...."dude, have you seen my ****?"

Yeah that was great. And I just realized that the mother in that movie was also the mother in "Home Alone!" Small world...
