The NCAA Basketball Championship Thread

If I could rate the disappointment I have in this team from 1-10, it would be a 0. Howland took extremely young players (Hollins and Bozeman count as extremely young because they were taught under Lavin, meaning negative effect, and he turned them into actual contributers). He created a system that found success to an extent so quickly that I have little doubt that almost no other coach would be able to do. The team was expected to be a sweet 16 team, at best, this year BEFORE losing its best player to the season (Shipp) and all the numerous other injuries throughout the season which probably rank as among the worst in the country (Farmar, Mata, Aboya, Bozeman, and the aforementioned Shipp all had greater than minor injuries), yet he was able to take the team WAY beyond even the most optimistic expectations. Only a banner could make me happier than I am now, and I'll be ready for another championship game next year, even if I can't do it as UCLA student.

lol, its a game. UCLA's team is young. They'll have a couple more chances to get a banner up.

Can someone tell me about season tickets?

Next year, boys and girls. Next year.

By the way, Mike Roll graduated from my high school last year (Aliso Niguel HS). We called him "UCLA" after he took the offer to play basketball for the Bruins this year...he was a huge star on the team. So it's kind of exciting to see him on national television, even if he is pretty much tanking shot after shot in the big games, and gets about three minutes of floor time per game.

;)

It was still an awesome season and NCAA tournament for the Bruins. Florida was just an even better team; they really were THAT good. GO BRUINS!!!!

just got home from pauley pavilion at ucla. tough loss. but what a great season. go bruins!!!!!!!!!!!

Ripcurl, I'm really sick and tired of your attitude towards UCLA and the basketball team. I know you have it out for us, but it's hard to knock such a classy program like UCLA. Through all the crap they went through this year, I couldn't be more proud of everything they've accompished.

"Ryan Hollins and Arron Afflalo went to help up Morrison, who was spread on the floor at midcourt. Few then came to hug the crying Morrison.

"That's just a sign of a great program and great people," Morrison said. "They had enough guts as a man in their moment of victory to pick another man up off the floor. That's more than basketball and I would thank them if I could."

I'm proud to be a Bruin fan. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way.

lol flopsy.

Weren't you also the one who did the UCLA acceptance one with that Chariots of Fire song?

Kudos, your post about how they helped Morrison up made me cry...

okay not literally, but yeah...I LOVE UCLA and how classy we are in victory AND defeat. -----mmm, the basketball team in particular.

Congrats to the Bruins ...Coach Howland not only brought us back to the elite but he has also instilled alot of dignity and class to our team...UCLA showed alot of class the past weeks during the tourny! Go Bruins!
