The New Chances Thread (now with more ECs)

If you've seen some of my other chance threads, you'll see I added a few things. It's not because I omitted them on purpose, but I just have so much going on right now that I'm just remembering them now after looking through my papers; most of the ECs and volunteering I listed from my other threads were right off the top of my head.

Sorry if my list of schools is too long. Thanks in advance!

Btw, do the community college courses get added onto my high school GPA? I was never really sure about this, but regardless I took those classes because I was genuinely interested in them.

You have very good stats. And I do not think the college courses count towards your GPA.

I think you have a good shot at the IVIES, but I think your EC's should be more related to your major..

Thanks for the chance! Yeah, I didn't really do a lot of business-related ECs for one because I wasn't sure I'd want to major in business. I also wanted to take a variety of ECs that interested me instead of sticking to just one thing.

Out of curiosity, why are you applying to just UC Irvine? Why not UCBerkeley or UCLA?

Yeah, I decided to leave Berkeley and UCLA out because I already was chanced for them. I think my list of schools is too long as it is, lol.

Good chances. The only thing that could be improved upon is extra-curriculars, which fail to showcase your mentioned interests.

any suggestions for other schools with pretty good bio programs?

^why are you hijacking someone else's thread?

Seriously...that's pretty rude

how about you make your own thread, shrttiekid.

Yes, CC courses are added to your HS GPA. Or at least, they are in my school, and I can't say why yours would be any different.

That's interesting because someone told me differently on another thread.

Can someone please chance my list of schools? Thanks in advance.

sorry, i thought that this was one of those where you could put your own..
cause it said new

no need for the hostility

and it looked really recent so i thought i was the second person to post...i didnt know it was an individual type thread =/

i wasn't trying to hijack, sorry.

No need to, it's alright. I just thought of putting something other than 'Chance Me' so I could stand out a little bit.

so we're cool?
where are you from in socal anyway?
i am too, LA county

Yeah, definitely. Sorry for the possible confusion.

I'm in L.A. County, too. Small world, huh?

okay, i really don't know enough about ivy leagues and other top notch universities...my main knowledge is about UC's so here goes:

i think HYPS might be a slight reach, because one of the seniors last year at my school had a pretty similar resume, except with acadec and debate stuff...he didnt get accepted to harvard, princeton, or stanford..i'm not sure about yale...he chose duke in the end

another friend got into UPenn's waiting list and got lower than you on SAT and similar GPA...so maybe match?

the others i really can't say anything cause i don't know anything except for random things that dont really pertain to admissions/chances

Trust me, I'm not expecting anyone to tell me that HYPS is a match because it really isn't a match for anyone. I would definitely be happy if I got into any of those schools, though.

haha if i got into an ivy, i think i'll throw myself a "i got into ____ !" party =P

The hell? lol
