The NFL Thread

I am. I do a league with a $200 buy-in (12 people). It’s pretty hardcore. And I’m pretty damn good.

What’s with all the hate towards Tom Brady? If anything, I would think you guys would hate Peyton Manning or some other more tool-ish QB. Tom Brady is cool, a great player, and has a hot wife. What’s not to like? Probs jealous, that’s all.

^ Jealousy is far from it. Brady is the result of a system. He’s a tool. He’s a cocky ass mother****ing pretty boy.

I don’t know…maybe it’s just me but I would want to win a championship. From what I can see (and I’m no expert), the Jets are loaded. They made it within a game of the Super Bowl last year, and since then they’ve added LT, Antonio Cromartie, Santonio Holmes, and Jason Taylor. Sanchez will probably be better too. I mean it just seems like everything is there. It’s the Jets’ year.

^^ The result of what system exactly? He went from high school qb, to back-up qb at Michigan, and filled in for Drew Bledsoe when Bledsoe got hurt – and then Brady took the Pats to the Super Bowl and won. I don’t see what system you’re talking about, or if that’s supposed to be derogatory in the first place. He’s not cocky either, he’s pretty humble, especially compared to the skill position players and other high profile qb’s like Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, and Donovan McNabb. And of course he’s a pretty boy, all qb’s are.

^The Patriots system. I.E. The theory that essentially anyone could be put at QB in their offense and succeed.

Not sure if it’s accurate or not; personally, I just think he’s good.

Bill Belichick’s System. Anyone who knows football knows that Bill Belichick runs the most efficient system in the league. Tom Brady, like Bledsoe, is a result of that system. Tom Brady is by far the best system QB. And he is cocky, as seen by his interviews.

^When a backup has an 11-5 season, it’s a system.

System QB? Just look at Cassel… they guy hadn’t played a snap since high school, or whatever. hell, they can go out and get Jamarcus Russell and he would be a pro-bowler. Brady by himself is already a good, smart QB but you can make the argument that his system is what makes him one of the best.

I"ll give Brady his credit. The man would do well on a above average team. Belichick’s system is the best I have ever seen with my own eyes.

^^ Hey, Cassel’s a good QB

Anyone down to make a fantasy football league?

Let’s do it. CC Fantasy Football!

What do we want to use, ESPN, NFLNetwork, Yahoo, etc.

@all you haters of Brady - I’m pretty sure any QB can do good/half-decent with Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and the best o-line in the league (ie. Matt Cassel). Tom Brady did phenomenal though. Tom Brady as a rookie had none of the above, and did better than Drew Bledsoe. Not so much a system if you ask me. Did you even see Brian Hoyer (Pats back-up qb)? He sucks – same system.

I’m already in 8, 1 more shouldn’t make a diff. lol

I guess I’m down for a fantasy football league. I’m gonna be paying more attention to my money league, but I’ll definitely stay active on this league.

^^^ I prefer yahoo.

boston, my parent’s don’t let me do money leagues, the most i do is a few 25-50 buy ins. fantasy football is my life though

Alright let’s take a vote.

Yahoo -1
ESPN - 0
NFL Network - 0
Fox Sports - 0
any others you want to add

Make one and link to it, I will join. It will hard to keep up along with school…but whatever. I’ll be up all night a lot of nights anyway, it won’t hurt.
Yahoo - 1
ESPN - 1
NFL Network - 0
Fox Sports - 0

I’m going to make another thread. ESPN is definitely my top choice.

^^ Well, I’m actually doing the fantasy league with some of my dad’s friends. Most kids aren’t down for a $200 buy-in. I got invited to a couple of my friends’ leagues with $5 and $10 buy-ins, I might do those.

I don’t have much of a preference for the league (though I prefer CBS).
