Hi guys! I am a junior that really has her heart set on Notre Dame!(just ignore my username haha) I have poured over their website and looked at a lot of the forums on here but I was wondering if you guys could give me an impression of the Notre Dame experience. What made you chose Notre Dame? What are the best parts of being a student there? Why would you recommend others attend Notre Dame? What is your favorite part of campus?

Thanks guys! :)

Why I chose ND: I’m double legacy and have 2 family members attending right now, too. I grew up with ND. It feels like home.

Best parts of being a student: Football weekends. Dorm life. It’s freaking Notre Dame. Traditions.

Worst parts: I’m not Catholic, get that crucifix off my wall. Parietals. Ultra-conservative and closed-minded people who start viewpoint wars.

Favorite Parts of campus: FB stadium. Grotto. The Rock. Carroll.

I chose ND because it has the most community-like feeling of all the schools that I targeted. It is not ultra competitive and everyone works together. It is like a large family and you can start a conversation with anyone who ever went to ND once you join the family. This sense of community is truly unique and not like the ultra competitive life at the Ivy League and other schools like them (i.e. MIT).

The fall is awesome with football; and basketball games can be quite fun. LIke Alessandra said football weekends are awesome and it is too bad we don’t have more.

I work in the JACC so the whole athletic complex probably is my favorite part of campus, but the Basilica is awesome as well.

i would recommend ND to the right type of person - ND is not right for everyone, but if you like the things above, then I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Thanks guys this is just making me want to go there even more! :)
