I thought the season finally was kinda cheesy, they definitely lost some viewers there.

I agree that the first season of the OC was probably one of the greatest, along with Grey's Anatomy, and the first season of 24.

Grey's is still VERY good (the best thing on TV).
I stopped watching 24 because it got too graphic, but I heard that it was really good this season, so I might go back to it.
The OC...it just got so repetitive. There would be a conflict with a new character, lots of in between drama, then the character would leave and the 4 of them would be happy ever after again. I stopped watching this show in the middle of season 2, and I am pretty sure that this is still happening.
LAME!

volchok was always bad right from the beginning

OC was crap and it will always be crap. The only good actor is the Sandy dude, Kirsten dudet, Rachel Bison? because she is super hot, and Melinda Clarke (she went to my school w00t). Everyone else can kiss my ass. Especially Micha Barton. I'm glad she died

The last episode was so lame. If Marissa really has to go, can't they make up a decent ending instead of her dying. That's so lame. yeah, the first season was the best and the third was definitely the worst. I have always been a fan of this show but now without marissa it will never be the same anymore. her sister, caitlyn, is a brat.

They should have just let her leave on the boat thing for a year...

I didn't even cry at the end of the finale. I wasn't affected at all. It was really lame. Mischa should have just sailed off and never come back.

quick fact: years ago, mischa barton was kicked out of school in manhattan, after her and her friend were caught snorting lines in the school bathroom.

The first season is great and that could probably justify why OC is so popular

But the "drama" got too lame

Yeah, the drama's unrealistic - but so is the drama on everything from One Tree Hill to House to 24. That's why it's called drama and that's why it makes good TV.

Ugh, the O.C. is incredibly.... horrendous.

In anycase, I heard that Mischa's character was killed off because she didn't want to do the show anymore, and was afraid she'd be typecast because of the show. Supposedly, she also said she would refuse to do anymore episodes. (Or so I read, I'll look for the link where I got this)

Yeah, she has a burgeoning film career now and is moving on to bigger and better things. Still, it's disappointing for the fans.

Doesn't everyone sign a contract? And is that true about her snorting lines??

Yeah, but it's not like they've signed their souls over. They can leave if they want.

They can leave, it's just hell to get out of. Like giving up major funds, endorcements and the likes, and perhaps enduring a lawsuit or two.

But I think that Mischa left amicably. Writing her death into the show probably really boosted ratings -- since, you know, people love watching people die on TV.

I say booooo to the ending. BOOOOOOO!!

hopefully it will get cancelled now that mischa's gone
then i can quit seeing 13 year old kids running around trying to re-enact the show in their real lives.
