im freaking out, im studying today through wednesday.
i know absolutely nothing about the middle east D:

i just signed up so i can ask this. im taking world and human geo. (thursday and friday! agh!) im studying like CRAZY. my question is: i have the kaplan review books for both, as instructed by my teacher. however, everywhere i see mentions of barrons and PR…how does kaplan rank with the other review books? i am faithfully studying them, but even if i know them pretty well, will it be enough?

also-
a) skip school to review all day
OR
b) go to school, miss valuable review time, but get my teachers in-class reviews during the 2 periods i have these classes?

^Review books themselves don’t really matter much if you took the class, generally…the historical info is out there.

Whether it’s good enough for you or not is up to you to determine…

I’m skipping school tommorow but not weds (as I’m not cramming). Definitely worth it, what’s one day of school if you can improve your score?

I’d just like to point out to anyone who would like some help reviewing, that there is a APWH Review Thread available. There was a Biology version of this a couple days ago, and I found it helped me out a lot.

Okay. Thanks for the opinions…I’m pretty sure that I’m going to fake sick tomorrow to get out of school. My mom won’t understand my train of thought on this one, haha. Now, its just a matter of focusing. Also, not reviewing on Wed?! Oh man, that cuts my studying time in half! I hadn’t even heard about that. Definitely not happening for me, hahah.

Haha all you guys are making me second guess myself…I was just going to review a few major points but basically relax…but maybe not as I’m currently on track for failing.

Just everybody so far has told me “DON’T CRAM! You won’t be able to synthesize all the information” or something along that line.

I guess that makes sense, but I can’t see myself getting anything above a 2 without studying on Wed! I’d also be more stressed and beat up on myself if I just sat down and watched tv or something of the sort. Ugh, I guess I’ll figure that out later. For now I must focus on doing what I can.

I was thinking my routine on Weds would be: Not watch TV (my brain cells are already fried)
I would probably go out and walk/exercise to get the blood flowing for an hour or so, eat a REALLY good dinner, glance over some notes a few times go over some stuff for an hour or so, DON’T PANIC, etc.

uh referring back to chocobok’s previous post about the score
"why does the PR say you have to get 50 raw score points and a 7,6,6 on the essays for a 3?
Cause doesn’t that equal a 5 by the curve? "

after calculation, that would get you like a 96 raw score out of 120. [if by 50, you meant 50 raw points for the MC]
that’s way into 5 territory.
i heard somewhere around 75+ was 5ish.
anyone can confirm that?

DON’T PANIC? thats going to be difficult. I actually have to go to a piano lesson Wed night (dear lord! my mom wont let me skip! is that sadistic or what?) but i’m hoping that maybe it wil be able to take my mind off of things. going for a walk sounds like a good idea. i’d say take a nap, but i’m too scared that if i take a nap then i won’t sleep well at night and it would disturb the whole balance.

OPENED JAPAN TO AMERICANS

oh my god.
I AM BRAINWASHED. LOL.
your username just set me off !

(and i have no idea how to calculate that mock score)

I’m reposting this (which I got earlier from a different thread)

Raw Score (including -0.25 for each wrong answer) x 0.8571 =
DBQ Grade x 2.2222 =
Compare and Contrast Grade x 2.2222 =
Continuity/Change Over Time Grade x 2.2222 =
Add them all together without rounding till the end.

74-120 = 5
60-73 = 4
43-59 = 3
27-42 = 2
0-26 = 1

I think the curve changes every year…Not sure about how accurate it is, because then it is way easier than I thought to get a 5.

werd, it seems really easy to get a 5 so i’m a bit skeptical.
but if it’s accurate…

THERE IS A GOD; EFF SHINTO.
EFF NEOCONFUCIANISM TOO. AND DEISM AS WELL.

Yeah, I really can’t believe it either.

But I think the 74 could vary, it could be anywhere in the 70-80 range.

It’s 1:39 right now. I wake up at 6:00. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to end up pulling an all-nighter. Good idea or not?

HAHA east coast for the win!
i must wake up at 6 too :[
screw NY

ugh, screw florida! its got to be at least 100 degrees, im going to go out of my MIND.
and yeah, definitely pulling an all nighter. too bad i have a human geography test at 7:00, eh? lol. that’s the only thing I really have though so its not too shabby. a little bit of coffee here, some caffeine there, i’ve got it worked out.

eh, it’s only 10:47 here, so not far past my usual bedtime.
