where are you all from? im from socal, pasadena region..home of the world renown rose parade

I'm not super-qualified, but maybe a little more than their averages. Not super great though. DEFINITELY not a sports player, haha. Yeah, I think it depended on the admissions officer... maybe I got one because my admissions rep was a teacher and I wrote my essay about how much I heart teaching?

Well, I'm crossing my fingers that my parents will let me go to BMC so I'll introduce myself seeing as the class size is so small for BMC we might even be room mates for all that we know! I'll start a little template like this:

Name: Emma (obviously)
location: D.C. suburbs.
Fave thing about BMC: The location- Philadelphia and the amazing consortium
Basic hobbies: Flute/ Piccolo, obsessed with Buffy, International music

hahaha

name: diane (also fairly obvious)
location: san marino/alhambra
fave thing about bmc: through the webisodes i reallllly love the beauty of the campus. their stats arent too bad either
basica hobbies: golf, debate, streaming tv shows online (gossip girls, one tree hill, lipstick jungle, cashmere mafia, grey's anatomy <3)

Name: Nina
Location: Right outside of Boston
Fav thing About BMC: The Honor Code and the high quality of education.
Hobbies: French horn, piano, sculpture, debate, reading, and like Diane, streaming tv shows!
Attending y/n: It looks like I might but I am waiting for all my college results!

name: isabel
location: mississippi
fav thing about BMC: the sense of community, the fantastic and challenging academics, everything about the campus
hobbies: writing, photography, drama, and im tv lover like everyone else haha!
attending y/n: if i can convince my parents (who inexplicably hate bryn mawr as much as i love it) then YES YESYES!

(emma- outside of DC in MD or VA? i went to boarding school around there.)

Name: Jessie
Location: Central PA (hurrah PA, home to the amazing BMC!)
Favorite Things: Honor code, all the qualities of a liberal arts education (discussion, small classes), the people (I've talked to a lot of specs lately), the consortium
Hobbies: Reading, wasting time on the computer, talking, developing pictures (less now that I don't have a photography class), graphic design

And, OUCH, I don't like TV! I like movies better. Usually I only watch Scrubs or something late at night when I'm trying to sleep. Streaming movies online is the thing to do, haha!

Attending: The only school that could possibly trump BMC is Vassar, and that's not a given. I have to do the whole visiting thing... If I'm rejected from Vassar I'll go to BMC probably no matter what (the decisions from Colgate and Grinnell won't matter any more, most likely).

nina- what kind of debate do you do? are you going to nationals at vegas?

isabel- i love movies too ^_^ too bad ticket prices are skyrocketing. forced me to become a pirate ;x

im waiting on colgate too. dont think i'll get in though. waiting for the financial aid package. if its too $$$ i might go to uc san diego.

Name: Nat
Location: suburb on Long Island, NY
Fav thing About BMC: The close community, castle-like buildings, Jenny's blue pen, the easy access of other schools and Philly...there's not much not to like.
Hobbies: reading, writing, soccer, piano
Attending y/n: I'm not sure, I'm still waiting to hear from a bunch of schools.

Chudiane- Colgate is supposed to have pretty good financial aid- low percent of loans. Too bad they're not need-blind.

I wish I could have applied to CA schools... It would be nice to go somewhere new, but I didn't think I could afford it.

NeuroticSenior/Nat- I also love Jenny's blue pen! It's great. Loved the acceptance movie.

Are you guys going to do the chat on April 3rd?

Name: Natalia
Location: Northeast Philadelphia
Fav thing About BMC: location, honor code and the people
Hobbies: writing, soccer, basically all sports watching or playing, wasting time on the computer lol
Attending y/n: 99% sure yes

nicee, haha youre all on the east coast!!

brillar- i'll do the april 3rd chat, sounds fun!

chudiane- haha yeah, pretty funny. :)

lololllll wtheckkkkkk

i got rejected from scripps -- all of bryn mawr's stats is > than scripps --

Actually, Scripps stats are higher then Bryn Mawr's (both higher SATs and gpas). ; )
Bryn Mawr is higher then Smith, though. You live in LA County and Scripps is in LA County. That could be the difference between getting into one and not the other.

no wai!! really? no wai!! scripps is ranked lower than bryn mawr on usnews o_O o hmmm...just kidding..you are right...dam me hahahhahah..yay for me. but i think im kind of relieved because had i got into scripps, my mother wouldve made me gone just so i'd stay close to home. pretty psyched about bryn mawr.

has anyone got their financial package yet?

The financial aid came with the admission packet. Maybe you should call and ask if you didn't get yours.

well, i know that i wont be getting mine with the admission packet because i turned in my tax returns late [didnt think i could get in, so i didnt want to waste the $5.25 to mail it]. i just hope it wont influence how much money i get.

Hi guys!!!

Name: rachel
Location: HELLA NORCAL
Fav thing about BMC: IT LOOKS LIKE HOGWARTS
Hobbies: flute<3, Gossip girl, Chris Brown
N/Y: I want to go here but no financial aid & my parents aren't willing to pay for it.... :/

Diane- I GOT REJECTED FROM SCRIPPS TOO I was so sad :(

haha, your username is very misleading, rachel. lol yea i love gossip girl!!!

but yea, my admission package says "While we will determine your eligibility as soon as your file is complete, we must caution you that financial aid funds are limited." does that mean they are hinting that im going to get less money than if i had turned it in on time?
