probably a reach for scholarships, especially bc of your major (so competitive).

hmm i was hoping my national and international awards would help for scholarships..i'm guessing it's mainly based on test scores and gpa?

i think so, but it depends on which scholarship. i'm sure you could get some, but probably a third of the student body is at least as smart and well-rounded as you are, so it's a little hard to tell in that regard.

I'm a transfer student from UCR with a 3.45 gpa. How bad are my chances?

Not sure what it would be weighted, our school doesn't do that but:

I think my chances are pretty slim, but its so hard to raise your SAT grade when the english curriculum here is rubbish!
any suggestions?

vc08: slight reach... stats and ecs are average, lots of uc applicants and berkeley applicants are similar to yours. test scores are on the low side. your ACT is okay thought.

zaid: reach, are you a california resident? are you attending an american school? your stats are more in the range of uci or uc davis...

good luck to both of you.

Zaid: I'm also wondering if you are a Californian resident. Your GPA is good but the SAT scores are really low for Berkeley. I think your chances are slim if they don't dramatically improve.

My chance for Berkeley's EECS? oh and does the fact that i've only been here for about 5 years help my chance of gettting in? Thanks. And It'd be nice if you can also clarify the difference b/w EECS computer science and College of L&S computer science, do you start taking the same classes on your junior year? Thanks!

CA2006, Vicissitudes: I am not a CA resident since ive been in Kuwait for almost my whole life. I do go to an American school here but the teaching here isnt spectacular, the english department that is. I am an American citizen however.
What SAT scores do you think i would need?
