i'd say in for juventus10. omg 800s on ALL SATIIs? i applaud you man

juventus10: strong GPA and (especially) SAT scores, good ECs, and okay honors/awards. I'd say high match - match.

good job to all posting in this thread, some of those stats are amazing

makes me feel somewhat hopeless, but eh, what the heck :P
UC Gpa: 3.92
SAT I: 1950
SAT II: 700 Ushist, 720 math2
I think both my personal statements are really good though, and i've taken the most rigorous courseload i can. CA Resident, average income and stuff. average to slightly above average ECs.
thanks

dmission: though I haven't actually seen your ECs and/or honors/awards, I can say it's probably a reach, as both your GPA and SAT fall a bit below the average. If your essays are really great, you just might stand a better chance.

thanks for the chances.
do you think i should even bother applying? lol

You should. You do still have a chance, I think.

Hey Kyle,

thanks for the answer.

I'm from Germany and a German, too g
As regards school, I cannot be certain to be understood correctly in respect to your answer and the definition of "International".

Does this attribute signify that, in this case, I would come from the outside(Germany) as a German as well?

So, if I understand aright, the odds concerning the admission process are for Internationals (me as a so-called Abiturient to be, a with German Abitur) who aim to join an undergradute course?

As far as I can evaluate, Berkeley's requirements are difficult to fullfil....only to be sure: Do I meet these conditions, a SAT will follow after having reached the Abitur, of course.

nalydylan: strong GPA and scores, okay ECs and honors/awards. I'd say high match (about 60%).

germanapplicant: if you are not a US citizen or permanent resident, then you are an international, which makes admission much more difficult (I think the acceptance rate is about 10%). As long as you take the required courses and exams (SAT or ACT with writing, and two subject tests in different areas), then you should be set.

Kyle, does that mean that my Abitur is less important because of the lacking comparability?

therefore a high score in the tests is more relevant?

what about the two subject tests? do they belong to the SAT? for example a SAT about biology?

Thank you so far =)

germanapplicant: I'm not sure how the "Abitur" certificate works, so I'd wager that your scores will be more important. Subject tests are SAT IIs, other tests administered by the College Board. They're tests in specific areas, like biology or US history or literature. You need to take two of them in different areas to be eligible for UC.

pillowsackhopper: your GPA is strong, as is your SAT. Your ECs are somewhat weak, as are your honors/awards. Since you're applying to a competitive major, it'll be more difficult. I'd say slight reach - high match.

Everyone's posting a UC GPA.

The application automatically calculates that for you right? I don't see any UC GPA input slots...

Can someone tell me if it is even worth applying?
