cenire: strong GPA/SAT, and good ECs. High match - match (60-70%)

y yo ^^ 10 char

I thought I'd chanced you before, unless something has changed.

I'd say high match (~60%), possibly a match if your essays are great.

I also find it funny that you assume I know what "y yo" means. =p

do you know how the decision process works? like.. do they gather all the people wo applied to a certain UC, like UCB, from my school and compare people? or when i submitted my application, does it just go in that order?

^^u want to be a linguistics major, playa...i know you know what i'm sayin'

25 Days...

Linguistics is the scientific study of language, not any specific language. I could've taken French or German in high school. =p

(But yes, I'm fluent in Spanish.)

I believe that within each admissions team (at Berkeley, for example) there are people assigned to different regions. If a school has many applicants to Berkeley, an entire school's applicants will be assigned to the same people.

Am I a match, or slight reach?

Athletics: all-region in both, all-state in 3200m in track (for small schools), local road races (absolutely nowhere near good enough for division I, getting recruited in division III is the best I'm doing right now)

^ arizona girl, I would say high match! You have a very small school, my class has 629 students. You're doing plenty, academic and co-curricular wise, taking into consideration your school doesn't even offer AP classes.

philoglossia: even for an OOSer, it's a match. Overall, your application is very strong, and I wouldn't be surprised if you got into HYPS. (Then again, perhaps that's a reason for Berkeley to reject you, as they assume you're going to attend another school.)

Thanks!

You're right- Y is where I really want to go, but Berkeley is a pretty close second and a lot cheaper than HYP as well, even for out of state. And the weather is way better too :)

Well, we're getting towards that time. Now that all stats are final and stuff, thought I'd post here once more.

SAT1:1950
SAT2:720Math2, 700USHist
UC GPA: 3.84
very rigorous course load
average E.C.s
above average essays
california resident

Thanks
(If, possible can I please have the% chance?)

dmission: I'd say ~20-30%.

I'll do a brief one also.

SAT1: 2130
SAT2: 730, 660
UC GPA: 3.97
Weighted GPA: 4.0
9 AP's and many (I forget) honors classes, overall rigorous courseload
CA resident
According to feedback I received, one essay is merely great while the other was outstanding
Enormous upward trend (think 2.8 to consistent 4.6's and 4.8's)
EC's: Without a doubt my weakest point, very average

StanEda224: your SATs are strong (minus the 660), though your GPA is a bit weak, and your ECs don't appear to make up for that. Do you have any honors/awards? I'd say Berkeley is a reach, though the upward trend may help.

I got into UCSD... waiting on Cal!

Female/Filipino/ 1st Gen. college student

UC GPA: 4.0 on the dot.
Class Rank: 9/300+ I make ELC
SAT: 1840; CR-630 M-570 W-650
SAT2: 570, 550

AP's: World (3), Art Drawing (3), Art 3D (3), Eng Lang (3), Ush (2).
CC Course: Psyc 101, Art History 104

Senior Course-Load:

Gov/Econ Hnrs
Ap Art 2D
Ap Lit
Chinese 5-6
Chemistry Hnrs

Special Stuff:

-Received Governor's Medallion; highest award of art in California
-CSF, NJHS, NHS
-Japanese Club Pres 2 yrs
-Chinese Club Pres 2 yrs
-Art Club
-Fashion Club
-Ap Scholars Club
-Principal's Round Table
-Animal Shelter Volunteer

kaii: your GPA is slightly weak, as are your scores. Your ECs are good, though, and the Governor's Medallion may help, as well as your first-gen status. I'd say slight reach - reach (~50% or below), depending on your essays.

4.0 is low? and first generation!

kyledavid, I completely disagree

A 4.0 weighted/I is slightly weak (I did not say "low"). Please read the context before jumping to conclusions. A 4.0 *unweighted would be great, but that isn't what kaii gave.

(Average weighted GPA for Berkeley is a 4.3 or so.)
