Essays:
wrote about how I discovered the element elementium. I am going to be awarded the Nobel prize in physics this year.

my second essay is about how I discovered a mathematical formula for curing cancer and heart disease. I will win the Nobel prize in medicine and chemistry this year.

I wrote 10 novels (3 of which won the Pulitzer prize and negotiated with North Korea to stop making nuclear bombs). I am going to win the Nobel prize in literature and peace as well.

So my main worry is that Cal won't like my personality--sometimes I'm shy and indecisive. Hopefully they will let me in. But who knows....I think other applicants are better than me.

i know xu234, i spent too much time outside school doing scientific research. I should have joined the football and tennis teams when I could have.

Who needs to write a 100 page paper on gauge theory that won the nobel prize right?

Xu, I'm sorry; there's just too many people just like you who are applying (except that they're also gold medalists in Bio Olympiad, Physics Olympiad, Computer Science Olympiad, and everything else. Also, you're missing the Nobel Prize for Chemistry. How can you expect to go to the best place for chemistry in the world if you don't have that? I agree that it might be a slight reach. Good luck!

Chance me please (:
I feel like my SAT I is not strong enough and that there are too many people like me.
Could anyone also tell me my chances for UCLA also?
I really don't want to waste $130.

Will my SATs/APs/Awards make up for my atrocious GPA/ECs?
I'm thinking Cal is a reach for me.. (I would be ok with UCSD though)
What do you guys think?
Thanks for reading. =)

talkingwhale: I think you have a legitimate shot at Cal. My gpa was higher, but my SATs (I and II) were definitely lower than yours. Your ECs are a little bit lacking, but if you had good essays, I'd say you have a good shot.

It's a little daunting I must say whenever I peruse through this thread and I see all the achievements everyone has done...haha

Siddharth1991: Good SATs. As in A level courses are good. I'd say you have a good shot at UCB. Sad though, they don't have a cricket team. Wouldn't you rather go to Cambridge and play (and study) for them. Cambridge University now has a Business School, too.
