I'm not sure but I think that my essays we're pretty good..

I'm taking 5 AP classes this year--and i just got my grades...5.0 weighted gpa

i live in california so i dont know if that helps
race/ethnicity-middle eastern/pakistani

I was wondering if you could also chance me for UCLA and UCSD

MQD- I will say 65%. Strong app overall, only weakness is your math sat. Not sure whether you will be considered for in-state status if you go to boarding school on the east coast.

katelynC91- UCSD-safety, 90%+ chance. 70% for UCLA and UC berkeley, hard course load/and decent sat.

large t-rex- 25%. Sorry, out of state status and a relatively low gpa hurts your chances/

Oh I see, I thought katelynC91 was in state for some reason....I'd not be SO sure then, though I'd still say it's a good application. I'm not that sure how hard it is to get in from out of state.

Pros:
-in-state applicant
-applying to L&S (physics)
-4.0 UW, 4.4 W, 4.3 UC
-2170 (800 math), 800 math2, 770 chem
-5th %ile in class of 800
-solid music (cello) & chess ec's

Cons:
-not so rigorous course load: 5 AP's total (Calc BC-5, Eng Language-3, currently taking Physics C: mechanics, economics, statistics) + 2 community college classes (french 1 & US history)
-no language taken past level 2 (french)
-less than 20 hrs of community service

Application essay was decent I guess but nothing special. Any thoughts?

AP's: I will have taken 9 AP's by the time I graduate.

If CA resident as you state above, I think you have a good shot if you'er applying L&S, though not necessarily great if you're applying OOS. Though I am unfamiliar with OOS chances. I can only judge in-staters based on what I think the stats of those who got in were.

200+ Service hours

I applied for the Computer Science major and my second major is Mathematics.

Well, I think you're looking at admission to L&S -- your GPA won't be an issue, though the test scores can be a problem, given as you might know, UC admissions are very numerically based. I hope you get in, given we have great math and CS programs. If you have questions about the math program, I'll very likely be able to answer them if you message me.

I am also a private tutor for this little girl 5 hours/week for 2 years

Both my parents are immigrants and so im 1st generation in college

What are my chances as a Engineering major in UCBerkeley? How about bio?

Can you tell me what my chances are for UCLA and UCSD in general also?

If biology, you're in L&S, and I would almost guarantee it. Strong chances for engineering as well, which would have improved with a somewhat higher SAT, but good grades are more important for a UC, and you have some strong SAT IIs.

What is your UC GPA? How many a-g classes total will you have taken across the four years of HS? Are you officially ELC? How many hours of charitable/volunteer hours total did you list?

With the answers to these, you can get a pretty good idea of your UCSD chances.

If your UC GPA is 4.1 and you did only the minimum a-g classes, are not ELC, and have less than 100 hours of volunteer time, you will likely not be offered a spot at UCSD, but if you have a few of these preference factors it would easily tip you over into acceptance.

well i have AP Bio which is 2 periods and also AP Physics which is also 2 periods. So a total of 11AP credits (periods) but actually 9 AP classes... no i dont know officially if i am ELC but im pretty sure.

I dont know my UC GPA. But i had 6 classes in sophomore (2 APs)
7 classes in junior (4 APs) and 7 classes in senior (5 APs) i got all A's sophmore year and for junior i got one B.

and i have about 500 hours of community service.
