you're being admitted into l&s undeclared, which...i dunno the statistic. but! it's the one the overwhelming majority of transfer students get into.

declaring sociology after that is no problem since it's not capped.

it's possible that 23% is because of psychology and social welfare. where did you get that number?

I got the admission rate from website and psychology is in social science division so same 23percent social welfare 32percent...but not going to finish all the pre-req.

Chance please? :)

That seems like a large discrepancy between your unweighted and UC GPA...how did you count those? I would count unweighted as total 10-11 grade GPA, no extra points, and UC GPA as total 10-11 grade GPA with an extra point give to 8 semester's worth of (usually) AP classes.

Anyway, I think your GPA's a little low for OOS. Score are okay. I'd guess 25% chance. Good luck.

Raise SATs.

indianbasketball: You have a strong GPA and good ECs. Try getting that SAT score up if you can. For now I'd guess 50-60% chance. If you're applying to engineering, your chances would go down a little. Also, it'd help if you organize your post a little in the future.

knguyen142: You have a good GPA but your SAT II and especially SAT I scores could be better. Your ECs are okay. Assuming you're in-state I'd guess 60% chance.

dontcha: Your GPA is definitely good, but your SAT Reasoning is pretty low for Berkeley. Your ECs are decent. I'd guess 35% chance.

Hey thanks for the response. Yeah actually i will be prolly applying to to engineering, so my chances will proly be lower huh? Sry about the unorganized post.

Yeah, engineering and OOS makes it tough for you. Especially if you choose a popular major like EECS, BioE, or Engineering undeclared. Those three are the most popular.

i'm seeing a bunch of nerds here looking for confirmation that they should apply to berkeley. so i'm here to tell you.....(get ready).. me too. :0

i'm not so much worried about what my gpa and activities are, so much as i am worried about the fact that i'm not confident about my personal statement part of the app. so taking that into consideration too....whadaya you kids think?

they don't even look at the SAT. you seem like an interesting person, just let it show in your personal statement. but even if it is weak, with the 4.0 and ec's, i wouldn't be worried. (just as long as you've finished, you know, the breadth and major prereq's offered at your jc.)

to ruyi - thanks for the confidence!!

to everyone - lots of good luck to yoooooo!

seraphinel: weak GPA + OOS = reach for Berkeley, even with good scores + average ECs.

knguyen142: strong GPA and rank, slightly weak scores, average ECs, low-income status -- I'd say slight reach - match. Try to raise those scores, as vicissitudes said.

I'm pretty sure that UCs don't weight honors courses for OOSers.
Where did you hear this from?
I'd read it somewhere on the UC site, I think. Makes sense, though, since honors courses have to be approved in order to be weighted, and UC will (probably) only profile CA schools. I suppose it's possible that they'd weight certain honors courses for OOSers.
