THE Official ED Decision thread

Screw your friend! CHECK IT! :-)

uggg... rejected

I didn't apply ED last year, but were there this many outright rejections? I thought most schools defer the majority of ED applicants.

But anyways, congrats to all who were accepted, and my condolences to those who weren't. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but give it time, and you'll find yourself completely over it. Take my word for it - if I was able to move on after a certain rejection last year, all of you will be fine.

Agggh! i'm having trouble checking decisions - Somebody help!

Is it just not loading? The server may be overloaded. It took me a while to get through last year.

oh well, theres always regular, i knew this would happen

No...I can log on, but once I click on the Decision tab, I just get a letter that states that ED applicants should check on the 15th and RD applicants should check later on :-(

Are you sure you're logged in? After you log in, click the application checklist, then decision letter.

maybe hers isnt up yet...admissions at all the schools always lag on some of the apps

ckmets13 - don't worry! You still have a shot with regular. You really never know what may happen.
Smoleylarue - I logged in, clicked on app checklist, then on the decision letter tab and still get the same result
Agggh...this is agony

Oh that's weird. I'd call them tomorrow morning if that doesn't change.

Yeah, that's the only option I have left. Ehhh... I suppose I'm the only EDer who doesn't know his/her acceptance fate.

Congrats to all the acceptees! You're in for the time of your life!! I want to see all the deferrees here in August too! Don't you worry...the Duke deferred club=the coolest people who were ever accepted in April!

loveduke, what did you do to get your deferral turned around?

Now that I'm a little bit calmer,

Decision: Accepted
Stats

SAT: 1540 old + 760 Wri = 2300
SAT IIs: 790Lit/760Wri/730Math2
GPA: 4.643W at the end of Jr yr...should be much higher now.
Rank: 3/173

Subjective:
Essays: original...wrote about my bus driver getting hammered to death (literally) in her bathtub the day after I got in trouble with her. (Oh, and I wasn't the killer, kthx.)
Teacher Recs: Well, they both said they lied a lot, so I'm assuming pretty good. ;D
Counselor Rec: I'm guessing pretty good.
Hook (if any): editor of newspaper, cartoonist for city newspaper for six months, governor's school, and 2 parents, 2 aunts, and an uncle (3 in the school of engineering) are alumni.
Location/Person:
State or Country: NC
School Type: Public, inner-city arts magnet
Ethnicity: White
Gender: F
Other factors: National Merit SF, skipped a grade, so I'm younger, fencing for almost four years, heavy interest in both humanities AND science. I was originally afraid that my lack of science and math ECs (not offered often at an arts school) and focus on arts and writing would hurt my chances of getting into Pratt.

I don't think I'm going to get any sleep tonight
