The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

@Philosoup

It’s a good thing I already have a laptop! Unfortunately, it can’t record but I should be fine.

@ucastell

Be sure to study for the MCAT!

I applied as a History major and i cant wait for Apri! I have a 3.83 gpa and all pre reqs done currently taking 2 extra history courses and stats. I entered my cc to just get an AA in anything, and now Im hoping to get into UCLA.

@Philosoup might be a dumb question but how do u record on your mac? Just got mine and im not to familiar with what it can do, used to only have PCs

Does anyone happen to have any particular insight into the anthropology program at UCLA?
If anyone could pass some info along it would be much appreciated (:

Aside from the general “quality” of the professors/program, I am really curious to know how difficult the program is. I know things like this are very subjective but some insight is better than nothing. While I like school and really enjoy my field, I don’t want to be stressed out 24/7 and doing nothing but studying…

I applied as Pre-Business Economics and I hope I got in!The good thing is that I have University of Oregon as a back up which is also a good school!Good luck to everyone that applied and hopefully we all get in!

@ocnative

I applied math major… but really want to minor in psychology, lol

@anthroflo I am also curious about the anthro program. I applied for Anthro BA for fall and have heard good things about the overall program just not specifics.

Just visited this school for the first time, man is it intimidating!

@RCLA325
NICE (: It is always such a pleasure to encounter other anthropology majors.
I also applied for the BA program starting this upcoming fall.
Same, I have heard promising things about the program but just very general things.
If I happen to catch any specific info I will let you know.

@nichtszumachen
I have only visited once but I most certainly got intimidated when I was first going into the campus and a good while walking around but after a little bit, after letting the initial notion that the school wasn’t right for me go and the intimidation subsided, I got really good vibes. Walking around the campus almost felt natural.

And then I came across their museum, which is totally unfair bonus points but I was fairly impressed.

I live in LA and I’ve never been to UCLA. I’ve driven around the area but I’ve never been to the actual campus.

@RamonaFalls

Oh you have to visit soon! I love the hills they have. Parking looks straight-up awful though.

@cayton, I know I’m planning on studying during the summer for the MCAT! I’m trying to get it out of the way before I start school at a 4yr University. Thank you for the wishes I’m going to need them haha

@ucastell, this is my intention too, however i think i will be doing summer school to wherever i am admitted.

@BlaiseAM it is really good to hear there’s someone else out there in these forums pursuing an MD degree :slight_smile: I wish you the best! I heard the MCAT is really hard, so I’m kind of nervous haha but we can do it! :)

@Sonic23

You have microsoft office for mac? On microsoft word, you can record it. You can download it for free from piratebay

^ @Philosoup Why don’t you just use GarageBand to record it?

@ocnative

Yeah, that’s another alternative too I guess!

@loluid I applied to the Design program within the School of Arts and Architecture and received an Open House invitation (likely letter?) yesterday. Any other UCLA Arts prospective majors get the same thing?

@sky8888 Nope i haven’t received one. :confused: But im for architecture, so i hope theyre different. Also Congratulations!

hey i made a forum specifically for UCLA arts and architecture students. Can you post it on that forum please? Maybe others will start swarming in. Thanks

@sky8888 also did you receive the invitation by both email and mail…or just mail?

Received my Open House invite by e-mail yesterday. Fine Arts major. :smiley:
