Can someone explain this “Maintain the grade point average and complete the courses and number of units you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates.”

As in, can our GPA not drop at all?

@mikmac

They’ll most likely release some decisions over the weekend. Personally, I think TAP makes you quite competitive for econ.

Do I have good news? Of course I do! I and many others in this thread got admitted!

@flowerchild747

Your GPA can drop, just not excessively, I imagine. If your GPA goes from 3.8 to 3.6 at the end of spring, I doubt it’ll be a problem. If it were to go from 3.8 to 3.1, then there might be an issue.

Even then, I’d worry more about getting a single D or F than a drop in GPA. UCLA is anal about D’s and F’s.

I’m more confused about the sending transcripts part. It says they must receive all transcripts for Fall coursework by June, and all spring coursework by July. Does this mean I might have to send my transcripts twice, if semester grades arent posted yet by the first deadline?

@Cayton Glad to hear!

well, i hope so. it’s a tough major there.

@cayton do you know if UCLA cares about D’s and F’s that were academically renewed at CCC? I had 3 (over 15 years ago) that were academically renewed for me. All A’s since.

@back2it

Academic renewal is honored by all of the UCs. They’ll ignore those D’s and F’s, but I think you still have to report them. Just state on your application that you got academic renewal for certain classes and you should be fine.

@mikemac

Be careful. Lots of econ/biz econ majors who get accepted drop out of the major at UCLA. Those majors are no joke at that school.

Hey everyone,

First of all congrats to everyone that was accepted! I was accepted myself and was wondering if anyone had a definitive answer as to how long we get to graduate from/attend UCLA? Is there rule comparable to UCB’s 2 year rule, etc.? Also what the unit cap is on total units we are allowed to complete AT UCLA, if there is any?

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

Congrats to everyone! I’m completely shocked to be accepted, I’ve been a nervous wreck after getting rejected from UCSB last week. I spent all day submitting paperwork to UCI and talking with friends about how they enjoy it there. This is my 4th year at a CC so those of you who are transferring in less, all the more to ya. In the 4 years I finished Java 1 and 2, C++ 1 and 2, Python 1, Assembly, and Data Structures, which really strengthened my app.

So, I was not notified yet. 3.85 Sociology Transfer. So. Freaking nervous. Do you think anyone who got audited at the beginning of January (Verification) are kind of the stragglers? Because they started looking at our applications a month after getting verified?
