The Official Fantasy Baseball Thread

Who here plays fantasy baseball?

I am the king of fantasy baseball.

Oh, and I'm going to put my foot down. Head to Head is the only good type of fantasy baseball. If you say roto, I will punch you in the ovaries.

I need some help. I have a good team, but I have a lot of injuries.

Using Yahoo Fantasy Baseball Plus - I only have one DL spot :(

Lineup:
C Paul Lo Duca
1B Nomar Garciaparra
2B T. Iguchi
SS Michael Young
3B Hank Blalock
OF Ichiro Suzuki
OF Shawn Green
OF Raul Ibanez

BN Gary Sheffield, Josh Willingham, Nick Johnson
DL Hideki Matsui

Pitching:
Glavine, Lowe, Todd Jones, Rivera, CC Sabathia, Josh Johnson, Cliff Lee, Mark Prior

Bench: Ben Sheets

What do I do? I don't have enough strikeouts and homeruns...I'm usually 50-50 with runs, rbi, saves, wins, whip, era

I usually win the avg and stolen base categories. What should I try to get rid of?

I would need to see the league in order to answer that.

http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b2/2282

That doesn't work. I need to be logged in as you to look at anything.

http://www.thekidscareya.com/baseball.JPG

I have all other 11 team's rosters up.

why keep matsui?

even if he comes back at all this season, which he won't, and he doesn't play most of it on rehab in the minors, which he will, he'll be around for september at best. And he'll suck because he'll have an entire season of rust and injury to recover from.

unelss it's a keeper league, which it's not if it's yahoo, Matsui is completely useless. your DL spot would be better served by a good player on the 15-day. get rid of him.

also, there's no reason to have that many on your offensive bench.

every day, you're using the best people, so the benchwarmers do nothing. drop most of them and pick up starters, because that's the one position where you do want to rotate players. keep up with it so all your starts get counted (starts are marked by a ^). more starters means more innings which means more K's. more starters als means more Ws. You shouldn't have anyone permentantly on your pitching bench, it should be occupied only by starters on off-days. relievers on the bench are like offensive players on the bench, a waste of space. they should be out there every day or off the team.

so drop matsui, drop willingham

put sheffield in the DL spot, put Johnson in the sparting spot and nomar on the bench. johnson is better than nomar, and nomar is a good utility player to keep on the bench because he can play three positions.

with your two free spots, pick up the best two starting pitchers or a starter and a closer if a closer (not just any reliever, a closer, who gets a lot of saves) is available.

sheets' numbers aren't great, and it says he won't be back until after the all-star break. see if you can't upgrade.

I know the deal with the bench...should be only for pitchers.

1) Is Lo Duca better than Willingham?
2) I'm not dropping Nick Johnson or Garciaparra. They're both too talented to be dropped. I'm trying to deal one of them for something good.
3) I think I'll try to pick up a closer in exchange for Blalock or something and then drop Todd Jones. Then, Ill shift Garciaparra into Blalock's spot.

Yea ok guys. I am the king of fantasy baseball. If any of you have won a fantasy league with a $150 entrance fee per year. Then you can talk.

Aside from that, I am the king.

Drop Sheffield and Matsui, put Willingham on the DL. Pick up Matt Kemp, Curtis Granderson or Josh Kubel to fill in your 3rd OF slot over Shawn Green. Drop Shawn Green.

Trade Nick Johnson and Todd Jones for a good closer. Like Isringhausen or Fuentes.

http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/17877/11

http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/380955/2

those are the best teams on my main name...but i have 5 others...giving me a grand total of 36 teams that are on yahoo.

i have 2 others on tqsports...both of which are crazy $$ leagues.

Why should I drop Sheffield? Sheffield is going to be back soon, right. I already dropped Willingham & Matsui...if I ever need Willingham - I always can pick him up again b/c I doubt anyone else will pick him up.

Granderson or Kubel...who's better?

Sheffield isnt going to be back until late Sept.

Take Granderson over Kubel.

what pitcher should I pick up then?

What are your choices?
