The Official February 10th ACT Thread

Overall it was pretty easy.
I suck at reading so I found that section to be the hardest.
Lets confirm some answers.

Let's start compiling the answers!

Did you guys have the math test where the first one was if the train was going at 8 miles per hour for 1 hour how long would it take for 50 miles?

what did u guys get for the vertices? I got E which was (ab, cd) or something like that....but

I thought the test was easier than the last time I took it (October), except for the science section, which was absolutely horrible.

For the vertices problem, I put (a + c, b + d).

what did u guys put for the english question #3? It was the one with the choices: A) Contributing, B) Dishing up, C)Endowing, D) Playing. These might be a little off, but I put A, contributing, although the choice B, dishing up, also seemed attractive.

i also put (a+c, b+d) for the vertices. i arrived at that by knowing what the slope had to be. (a,b) (0,0) had to have the same slope as (c,d) and the fourth vertice (i called it (x,y)) i believe. b-0/a-0 had to be equal to y-d/x-c. little bit of simple algebra gives you y=b+d and x=a+c.

as for the english question was that for the least or most acceptable?

train question -45 mph

english...i think i put dishing up. there was another one of those questions that was really confusing...in the gold medal passage

how many forms of the test are there? i didnt have the train question or the gold medal passage

oops i messed up..i didn't have a train question. it was a car question -_- and the gold medal passage was about an olympic diver (i think)

yes, i got 45 on the car one as well. my passages were about a girl jumping rope, freedom of speech, a guy who had tried to build a plane, and geeze..i cant remember. ive taken so many practice tests im gettin all the passages confused. this is sad

was the english question we're talking about dealing with the least acceptable term? cuz i want to say i put endowing if it was..just because it didnt fit the language used in the rest of the passage

yeah it was the least acceptable. that one was so confusing... at first I put endowing, then i changed it to dishing up, then i left it at contributing

where is everyone? i was hoping for a ton of discussion by now....
anyways, on the science. i got really lucky. i had 2.5 mintues left, thought i was done. and then realized there was another section. luckily, i took a genetics class last semester and was able to answer them without the given info

I put dishing up because it's slang.
English- Normal
Math- Normal
Reading- Easy
Science- Hard

yeah i no...in september there were a ton of posts..oh well

do you know what you put for the last three in math? I put J, H, J. I know H is right but I guessed on the other two.

For the english the one about least acceptable I put
"...., if" pretty sure thats right

were there any questions on irregular verb forms....like sing, sang, sung or begin, began, begun?

The last two for math were C,J. I know this because my friends and I were discussing during break. :D

***oops

I meant J, C, J.
