*The Official June 2012 Sat II Math Level 2 Thread*

800 on first try YES :D

770 as a Freshman-Should I retake it?

^ don’t retake as a 1 subject sitting. take additional subject tests with it so colleges don’t suspect that you’re obsessing over your score!

800, and a close call at that. I skipped 2 problems at the end 'cause I ran out of time.

800 with 3 omitted.

I was expecting at least a 700, but ended up with a 650 :(…Should i just retake it as a 1 sitting test in October? Im going into Senior year, btw

Same Here!! Expecting at least a 680, then I’d retake for a 700+. Instead I got a 630. What do I do???
Sad part about it is I don’t suck at math :frowning:
I’m actually pretty good. I got really nervous during the test.

^ Did you take timed practice tests before going in? If you have a problem with the testing aspect of it, just sit down once a week and take a test with a timer on your cell or something.

I took one timed test, but I did not have the problem of running out of a time and guessing/omitting a ton in the last minute. I was able to finish all the problems (with a few omits) in the time

Got an 800 with 2 omitted, yay!

First ever SAT test of any sort haha

Got an 800 too! I didn’t omit any, but I’m pretty sure I missed one. Does anyone know if these scores lapse after a certain time period?

800
w00t!

800!!! Not too shabby considering I started studying at 1 am the morning of… lol

And I agree that this test was a lot more straight-forward than some of the ones in Barron’s. There were very few ProbStat questions, but there were more number theory/thinking questions than in the practice tests. Congrats to everyone who did well!

I’m not applying to colleges for a few more years (I’ll be a sophomore next year), but would it be acceptable to go ahead and send a score without an application?

Discovered I got a 740 this morning…I don’t know how this happened considering I literally got an 800 on each practice test I took while studying (Princeton review and official study guide). I’m planning on retaking it in the fall so I was wondering-those of you who got 800s- what study guide did you use? From reading this forum, it appears Barron’s prepares you best…thoughts, opinions?

The SAT page still isn’t working for me!!! :frowning: What time did it work for you guys?

^7 am central time… I got a 770, which is CRAP because i just skipped 4, and that was my downfall… should i retake for, say, harvard/princeton/stanford? not everyone gets 800’s, right…?

Still not working for me :’(

WeIsCool,

Checkout some of the old Ivy Results threads with Stats listed. You will find that folks get in to Ivies with 770.

I also found this in the SilverTurtle’s guide :
consider this College Confidential post from MIT admissions officer Chris Peterson:
Quote:
There is no difference, for our process, between someone with a 750 and an 800 on the Math SAT II. Literally no difference. Once your standardized scores are sufficient to predict success at MIT - to show that you are academically qualified for MIT - they have reached the limit of usefulness, and we move on to other things.

and I believe that …

800 with 4 omitted

WHAT THE HECK!

I got a freaking 770…I did better on Barron’s at one point and got an 800 in the blue book for subject tests! WOW!!!

I’M GOING TO HAVE TO RETAKE THIS. -_- I feel REALLY stupid right now.
