thanks ! !

Flip flops are recommended for any public shower, whether it is in a suite of 4 people or a community shower of 40 people. It's all about hygiene, about not getting athlete foot or other coodies!

Isnt the suite of four people just like living with your family though? Do you wear shower shoes in your shower at home?

At home, you are among family members with known hygiene habits. At college, you are with total strangers that you know absolutely nothing about.

Not everyone cleans the shower after using it. Guys will urinate and spunk in it. Girls will releive their period in it. Some will leave traces of vomit and fecal matter.

I'm not trying to be gross ... just keeping it real!

Ha, yeah gps. But it's a lot less random when it's the same four people using it. Those examples won't fit the mini-suite deal because of the house cleaning and the fact that it's not anonymous--if you do something ****ed up, the other guys know its you.

wat does spunk mean

House cleaning only occurs 2-3 times a week. If you have suitemates from hell, of if you are the suitemate from hell, expect coodies.

Spunk = ejaculate from self-gratification.

gsps description is gross (no matter how realistic it is) hahah...all the more reason to get my own studio.

any actual mini-suiters who can chime in?

That would be me. What's your question?

Birkenstocks...ewwwww

oh chill, so your more qualified to say you dont use flip-flops...

gsp is cr a aa azey man

hey kell, i bet there are lotsa birkinstocks in berkeley!

of course I "use" flipflops..but only rainbows..HELLO!

Because rainbows and birkinstocks are so different. Your brand loyalty is admirable, I guess.

Not that many students wear birkinstocks, btw.

birkinstocks and rainbows are completely different...fyi. rainbows are for berkbabes and birkinstocks are for berkbores. =)

My information is accurate. Very similar footwear is indeed that, very similar. If you're talking stilletos and sandals, now that's completely different, but c'mon now, we aren't!

:p

what are birkinstocks?
what are rainbows?
what are berkbabes?
what are stilletos?

stilletos...are a kind of really high heel shoe..

Wow, boston, they dont got birkenstocks in mass?

except for rainbows

cause rainbows are rainbows, not shoes,

Hey Masha -- it doesn't seem like anyone's really addressed your questions yet.

I'm a girl, and I like my clothes (but I'm not like a stereotypical super girly girl). I found I had enough room in a regular Unit2 double for my clothes; by the end of the year, it was getting a bit tight. Generally aim for a week's worth of clothes, and 1.5 weeks of underwear (or base it on how often you feel like doing laundry, I did it about every 1.3 weeks on average)

Students are pretty laidback going to class (at least to me, after having gone to a prep school for six years where everyday was a freakin' fashion show) So yeah, jeans, tees, hoodies (lots of Cal ones) are the standard going-to-class attire. You should bring some dressy clothes, like one dress you could wear to a banquet, and then just a few partyish tops (depending on how much you plan on partying, I suppose). And bring one or two business casual outfits, for career/internship fairs or interviews.

Shoes: one pair each: business casual, evening heels, flip flops (I had multiple..), running, regular walking around campus. I think that's enough, although plenty of girls find reason to bring more.

Just remember, it's not like you're not going to shop AT ALL in Berkeley. I know I acquired a lottttt of clothes going to SF on weekends, or just from the Urban Outfitters in Berkeley. And if an occasion pops up (like the ResHall boat dance), it's fun to go dress shopping with friends.

Thanks sweetdreams, that was helpful
