Got into Lawrence but was waitlisted for finaid!
It’s been an hour… still haven’t received anything from L’ville. Perhaps my app was so bad that they refused to even inform me of my results?
@Totorocinnamon03 I just logged into the portal and it was in the corner like most of the other portals

For those with rejections or waitlists, keep your heads up and persevere. This is just a very small speed bump on the road of life. The fact that you are here and applied to these schools indicate you are well above average and your outcome in life will be amazing. Keep working wherever you go!
@Totorocinnamon03 Did you submit by January 15th? If you submitted a couple days after they might not release your decision today.
@CC4life yes. I also got an email saying that I completed my app. Idk if I should email the admissions office directly?

I just realized, I said I wasn’t checking until late in the day and I couldn’t help it!! As soon as I woke up and saw the first email, I had to know! :))

The only thing that you can do, @JaniceT is accept a place on the WL via email and add that you’d be willing to be FP, if accepted off the WL , or call the DOA directly and have that conversation ( which I think is best ). Do both if you wish! Does it help? Sometimes, in certain circumstances, I guess, but not very often. FWIW- There’s no immediate action ( or removal from the WL ) , if that’s what you’re hoping for. You’re just placed on a different WL.
For WL peeps thinking about calling schools next week : REMEMBER : All boarding schools are on Spring Break right now!! Be patient and know that AO staff are usually in and out of the office during March because they’re taking some well-deserved time off to be with their families! Leave a VM - send an email, but know that there’s usually just a skeleton crew on hand at most schools during the month of March.

I am waitlisted at three schools with no solid acceptance sooooo I’m desperate
@JaniceT- I totally understand and I’m so sorry. This is probably stating the obvious, but, if you’re a student- please have your parent or guardian call the DOA.

You might want to email the AO who interviewed you as well as they are usually the first point of contact for candidates for admission.

If accepted, you will enjoy new experiences.
If waitlisted, then this experience will toughen you up.
If rejected, you will mature. Applying & dealing with rejection is a growth experience. Competing for what you want should be applauded. Most adults biggest regrets focus on not taking a risk for going after something desired.
@CC4life thank you! I was able to access my results but was unfortunately rejected by L’ville… and Andover and Exeter. Quite shocked because I applied to A & E last year and was waitlisted then. At least I was waitlisted at Hotchkiss!
Also, does anyone think it is appropriate to ask why you were rejected/waitlisted to the AO? Really want to know.
My daughter is going to Cate. She got wl at Choate and is pretty bummed because she wanted to do their Arabic program.
