obviously do what you and your family believe is best for you, but to me it’s important that i’m not a backup. they picked you for a reason!

then again, if the school is going to be a wayyyy better fit for you, it’s worth considering. read the WL thread. it is helpful. Before you make a decision, I would do a lot of research in the 24 hours you have to take the offer.
I’d disagree. I suggest you evaluate LVille just as a regular acceptance should you be moved off the wl. The school picked you out of hundreds of wlisters. That means something.
If you think LVille has better people, better environment, or for whatever reason is a better fit, there is no reason not to give it serious consideration.
If you don’t tell, nobody will know you were wlisted.
It simply means that someone with similar profile/buckets did not choose Lville. Actually, several someones because the school adjusts acceptances for project yields. One student saying no to Lville does not equal one student off the waitlist.

what are you looking for in a school?
Tradition, a really tight community, sports opportunities, the right amount of structure, decent dorms, I think I like the idea of sit down dinners, lot’s of clubs, and the ability to try new things!
Taft has weekly sit down dinners i’m pretty sure but Deerfield is also really structured and it’s a traditional boarding school.I don’t know much about berkshire though.
