we're well on our way to a party...keep them coming

oh so that's the main reason. :) then we should have it here in Bergen County, N.J. because we have huge house parties and they are fun. really.
I would rather choose my roommate among CC kids than a random joe off the street.

yea i read about Bergen County being known for its parties. NYU ED party at kjayson's crib! jus playin. but if u could hook us up u kno...

theres no house parties here :(

the roster should be like bigger, last year around this time the NYU board was crazy full, maybe there was less applicants this year or something.

early to CAS

Jackie2oo5, I really enjoyed some of the intense images that your essay conveyed. So much creativity!

Anyway, only about 10 days away from thick envelopes! Have we decided whether there will be a safe get-together for CC/NYU students? Being that NYU is in the village, I suggest we all go jogging throughout the city and then study... mind and body (joke)!

How about we have a picnic in the park... during the spring!?
A Movie?
A Show?
A Workout at Palladium?

Any Suggestions???

Perhaps it should be during the daytime- and in a rather safe place, hehe.

Bonne chance tout le monde!

how about we smoke a fat sac and chill at some rave or something

Hmmm. Let's keep this... innocent (?)

:)

my stats were

-half asian /half white female; from public school in maryland

-3.75 uw GPA; 4.40 W GPA

-class rank
13th/350 w top 5%
29th/350 uw top 10%

SATs- 1200 (yeah they suck...)

4 AP classes... AP gov. 10th, AP Hist. 11th, AP calc & AP psych 12th

some activities
4 years varsity tennis captain 11th & 12th, 4 years orchestra, international student organization...

As far as the music part
- Interning at ESL Music (record label) in Washington D.C.
- Violin 8 years
- Guitar

what were ur stats?

ED to Gallatin

my school doesn't rank ...
im white from public NJ school.
3.66 unweighted, 4.53 (i think) weighted. Both A- averages pretty much. i'm not near top 10%...maybe 12% if we actually ranked. thats impossible at my school unless you've taken all honors every year. too competitive...we have like 20 something kids doing ED Columbia.
1560 SAT I, 730 Writing, 710 US H, 680 Lit
5 APs and a bunch of honors... AP US, Gov, Lit, Lang Comp, Euro
A bunch of activities: jazz band, theatre, newspaper, song writing (hobby), USY, National Honors Society...NM Commended (meh)
Music stuff:
Guitar 10 years, Piano 7 Bass 6 ...song writing stuff, volunteered at Central Park Summerstage, lots of experience with home recording programs, taught guitar at a camp, remastered a soundtrack for my school play...

we seem pretty comparable. how did your creative work come out?

almost all GSP students got their letters, and the E.D. GSP information session is on the 11th. so I am just assuming, you will get a rejection letter if you don't get it before the 11th.

haha
hmm my creative work was ok.. i suppose...
the recording quality sucked majorly...
but i wrote and played everything on the 2 tracks that i sent it...

i wish i had a freaking 1560 on my sats.....

how many people do u think applied ED for recorded music?

ummm i'm gonna say a lot more than last year probably. my quality was good...i used pro-tools lol it took forever to get it to sound ok. i wrote and played everything also but sent only one track that was 4:36. what type of music are you into? it took me forever to write all those papers.

yeah it took me forever too.. i like wrote one of the essays the day before i sent out the app... not a good idea..
anyway i'm into pretty much all types of music.. but im really into the whole "singer-songwriter" types... john mayer, jason mraz, howie day.... yeah yeah go ahead and make fun of me lol.....

it sucks that they're only accepting like 30 people......
that means like at most 10 for ED....

do you know of any other schools with a similar program?
all i basically know of is USC and Drexel
