The official, official ID "Got-In" Post:

LOL RELWARC!!! me too! haha like house a lot but I saw an Episode of Grey's Anatomy and the medical stuff is so cool. lol ok just wanted to share that...

ANYWAYS!!! how do you guys know if you got accepted. Does letters come out already?

Yep. Also, you can check online in the same place you login for your application status. It'll say Admission Status: Admit.

*Decision: Accepted *

[] Teacher Recs: alright.... she liked me, but nothing outstanding
[] Counselor Rec: good
[] Hook (if any): haha well if I have one, it'd either be that I'm out of state or that I play the violin... but some say playing the violin doesn't help if you're asian, so I don't know

[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: Pennsylvania
[] School Type: Public
[] Ethnicity: Chinese
[] Gender: Female

[/ul]Other Factors: um you can search threads I started for my full-on stats. **
**General Comments: I also got 2 merit scholarships... which made me feel very happy and lucky.
BUT more importantly - for those of you who didn't get in: CHINS UP! I can say from experience that you WILL survive (even if it doesn't feel like it right now) and I promise that it really is a blessing in disguise! (It was for me, when I didn't get into another school early.) You will end up where you belong. Really.

yen, since you got those merit scholarships, when did you submit the FAFSA?

well I got the merit scholarships in my acceptance packet (they didn't show up online), but I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with my FAFSA, because I submitted it... sometime last week. no joke. I think sometime around Feb 7th? And I submitted my CSS Profile around the last week of January? Someone else also mentioned that they got merit aid without submitting their FAFSA, so I think need-based and merit-based aid are evaluated differently.

Merit and FAFSA have no relationship at Rice. Was told today that any merit would have been included in the admit package. If there was no merit mentioned, the applicant didn't qualify.

no more people posting their stats?

i guess no one else got in - better for us RD people!

lol yea i guess

well i dont think many people like posting their stats...and also...this istn that popular of a site to have everybody know about it like google.

well duh. google is worth 100 billion dollars too

and it was a joke. i know that i have a 15 % chance in RD

yea regular decision is a little harder since there is more people applying
