sorry but the 2000 posts in the other pakistani thread are mostly fom non Pakistanis, I would like everyone from pakistan to list their specific queries here. of course all those who have gotten their acceptances are welcome to share their stats. it will really help everyone from pakistan. Please also say if you applied for aid and how much you are getting. Specific Chance me threads are welcome too.

well, pakistani here...currently in Beijing, tho

glad someone posted. hopefully in a few months we'll have 10 posts. That is our 3 month target.

3 months? I say three years. All Pakistanis are hiding out here somewhere because there got to be a lot of em - according to a poll, 20% of CCers are from the Pakistan and India. Guess our brothers really do mind the FBI on their backs. Or CIA for that matter.

I am a Pakistani and proud to be so. Yeah, I am a proud Pakistani. Shall I repeat it? I am a Pakistani. Yes - you got me right. I am a Pakistani. Note it down somewhere - please! P-a-k-i-s-t-a-n-i. Got it..?

Unlike the national tendency to bless others with hell once you've got heaven in sight, I will display my academics after getting accepted by Gettysburg college. I applied for ED1 with 90% financial need.

SAT I: 2020 (1300 combined)
SAT II: Maths IIC 770
GPA: 3.9 (unweighted)

GCE O/A Levels: 9As, 3Bs, 1C

Best A Level result in school
100% scholarship in A Level
50-75% scholarship in O Level

My financial need was calculated to be 100% by Gettysburg and so I got in with 100% aid. PM me if you need for info, stats or help. But this as far as I go with posting in public.

Welcome back CIA!
:D

congrats theGame. most of us have still got a few months of anxious waiting left till we find out where we go in.

the game you are don't have to worry about the FBI or CIA for that matter. NSA has all those things now. lolz
your syccess is well deserved and i hope you stick around to help other Pakistanis figure things out.

Here! how come i didnt know about this thread? :D

Congrats the game! so this is going nice, we already have an acceptance!

i think we are getting to our target. Flibb i thought you were boycotting this thread or something

what the hell. here we go. ten posts.

lol naah, I didn't realize it existed :D

10 posts woohoo! Has anyone else applied ED anywhere?

Yeah i did. ED 2 at Connecticut

OK I guess Im the only one who has a 3.9 GPA, every one I have ever known to apply to the US has a GPA of 4.00!

^ Hey. I just posted with my GPA. It's 3.9 too :)

lol ehehe...

so did anyone apply to oxbridge? I got rejected yaay!

Stats: 8As in O Levels, 5 As in AS Levels

Oxbridge? My foot. LOL. Applied to LSE and am waiting anxiously. You should get in there easily, though.

you'll get in dude...no worries!

me, I'm more of an engineering kind of person, so LSE, I wasn't so sure!

Aren't you supposed to withdraw any applications once you get into some college ED?

yo Flibb...how'd you calculate the GPA?

and how about we also post schools we attend...

what you have to understand about oxfbridge is that they have the most subjective selection prcoess among the elite schools of the world. you can't get in on who you are, only on what you have done. and international students are at a disadveantge. they are only so many they take so straight As really arent gonna get you far. Did you have a distinction. or really stood out in your selected major?
Don't take the rejection too personally. I have yet too meet anyone who got in and did not have a distinction. i am sure there are such people. but i havent seen them.

@khan91: Dude, I used the online GPA Calculator, use it, its cool...And put in your high school grades as well as the grades you got in O levels and AS levels...And about schools, I believe theGame will see the CIA coming, too conspicuous :D

@karpov: You're right man! I don't know what I was thinking when I applied, with a C in my bag (I know!). I did have the AICE diploma distinction tho, which I believe is really commonplace? And no, I aint taking it personally, I follow the "MY FOOT" approach :). We can look at oxbridge for masters, which comes later!
