I completely agree with what Inert101 just said.

Especially his parting remarks.

Where are all of you guys from?

I completely agree with what Inert101 just said.

Especially his parting remarks.

Where are all of you guys from?

I agree with myself too Juggernaut Saheb.

By the way we also v a sure Harvard acceptance at our school…a guy with perfect SATs…!

Well considering that LAS bombed last year I’m pretty sure It will happen again but we’ll see
I have a friend in LAS who is applying this year too and he said the counselor isn’t really good. This year LGS and Aitchison will be at the top…as usual

And a perfect SAT does not guarantee admission into Harvard…there’s more to it than that

The counselor is just fine. LGS and Aitchison cheat their way to the top by kicking out even slightly underachieving students. You can’t just kick people out of a school and deprive them of an education. Education is a right, not a privelage. If LAS were to kick out all students with a GPA of below 3.5, we’d have the best damn senior class in the country.

But that’s just my opinion. It’s also the right one.

Also, a perfect SAT doesn’t guarantee anything, but it definitely helps…

True but LAS is more about making money…sorry if this seems offensive but that’s how we pretty much everyone outside of LAS thinks, even in my old school Choueifat.

And I wasn’t talking about the percentage of people who get into good schools, just generally saying that even if the kids weren’t kicked out, we’d still have people going into the best colleges everywhere. I mean like last year, to my knowledge no one got accepted to UCLA from LAS

Anyway let’s not start debating on which school is better or whatever…if you guys need any help with college apps or anything related to it, just ask me

It just gets to me how frivolous the argument regarding the “best” schools in the country is. The fact of the matter is that no matter what actually happens at a school, those outside it have a fixed opinion of the school - whether it’s LAS, Aitchison or LGS.

@joiya550: I do appreciate your willingness to help and I don’t mean to continue this absolutely pointless argument, but I have to ask - are you trying to say that because nobody got into UCLA from LAS last year, LAS generally has “bad” acceptances? Unfortunately, I don’t understand this logic and would appreciate clarification. Also, do ask your “friend” at LAS what he thinks about this year’s class. When you do get a reply from him, please let me know. I’m interested to see what this “friend” says.

I know a perfect score does not guaranty a place at Harvard, but it surely makes u distinct from the rest of international applicants…

Actually, you need more than just a perfect score to get into a place like Harvard.

LAS creates human beings and socially conscious individuals who have principles they believe in and know WHY they believe in them. We don’t have armies of faceless, mindless people who are ridiculously adept at memorizing dates and historical names but know nothing about the historical context of those facts. LAS has no ■■■■■■■■ ‘ratta’ system.

Also, people outside of LAS are jealous of the relatively wealthy families that are associated with LAS. Some people are wealthy, but is that really a bad thing? The school is a bit more expensive than other schools, but that is because LAS hires only the best teachers.

Juggernaut, you are a very smart person.

Inert101, I must say - well said. I wonder why you were on this forum while in class.

Well, umm I’m not jealous of LAS and I’m paying for my college education which is around 50k$/year. My elder brother is also in college and paying 50k$ a year so as far as me being jealous of ‘wealthy’ families in LAS is concerned, you’re sadly mistaken :). AND my friend who goes there is probably richer than all of you combined and he still hates that fact that a lot of people in LAS are materialistic.

When I said no one got into UCLA, I was just implying that UCLA is not a Harvard level school, sure it has the lowest public college acceptance rate in the US, I was just surprised that no one from LAS could get into UCLA. I’m just saying…lets end this pointless debate.

And no, I’m not naming my friend in LAS.

Y does everyone goes on hiatus? lets make this thread more lively? so y not everybody post the colleges you are all planning to apply!!!

Why don’t you start?

@joiya550: I can’t help but feel that your comment was a bit defensive. That only strengthens my argument, but whatever, let’s move on to more pressing issues…

So what are you guys going to do if you’re rejected? I’ll probably break a few windows, bunk school for a couple of days, and then when I’m feeling better I’ll smash my laptop. Ok, maybe not, but I will definitely be disappointed.

waji, I’m applying Yale Early Action, not sure about the rest.

^Whatever makes you happy :)

^What makes you happy makes me happy :)

Wait that made no sense…

I bet there are a gazillion silent readers on this forum.

It’s ridiculous - where are all the Pakistanis?

If only our forum was as active as last year’s one.
